WTF does that have to do with the RLX?? Let me help you... NOTHING!!! Then you also say look at comparable performance figures of the S3 and GTI.... Again, nothing to do with the RLX nor are they comparable.
Want to compare a 200mph sedan with the RLX, take a look at the CTS-V. It does a full 30+ mph more than your most aerodynamic hatch in the world does at 28.5 seconds.
CTS-V
Zero to 130 mph: 13.6 sec
Zero to 150 mph: 17.4 sec
Zero to 170 mph: 25.8 sec
200 mph top speed, and it takes 640hp to do so.

The RLX is no where near that.
sure with Pilot SuperSport. I mention hatch are far less aerodynamic. They always lose big time at higher speeds. compare Golf GTI to Audi S3.

What does that have to do with the RLX?

How do you read any of his posts when they don't have a giant picture of an unrelated car interior?

Again, you make a post that makes zero sense and has NOTHING to do with the conversation. You could put R compound tires on the RLX and it couldnt touch the CTS-V

Why dont you compare the Torque of the 2018 Chevy Duramax to the torque of the RLX? It would have about as much to do with the discussion as what you come up with with the Type-s and golf.

See I check Acurazine and Social media when I first wake up in the morning (you know get my daily update on the world so to speak). So today when I woke up and read this post I declined to reply because maybe I was still a bit sleepy and didn't understand it properly. It is now the middle of the day and multiple coffees later and I still have no idea what the hell you're trying to say.

its only quater mile where AWD traction has more impact. once they go above 140mph. it will be different. the Audi RS3 was time 0-60 at 3.7second while Civic Type R was 5.8 second but at quater mile gap was reduced to 1.8 second. so who is gaining time with distance?

So you are saying that the Type R is poorly engineered for 99.999999999999999999999% of its use cases?

Hatch is MORE aerodynamic than a sedan when designed right. The S3 is faster because it has +100hp and +80lbft of torque not because it's a sedan.

You've got to be trolling, just admit it.

The amount of power it takes to go faster grows exponentially with speed. Makes sense that the Civic would catch up as a result of that. What I can tell you though is that it would never actually pass the Audi...mostly because the Audi has a higher top speed.

You can't compare a time to speed measure with a time to distance measure and then categorically declare who is gaining on whom. The Civic is slower to 60 and slower through the quarter, which makes it the slower car.

To be fair, the CTR isn't likely to beat any automatic AWD cars with 350hp+...lol....especially when they cost way more money too...

But it's nice to see the CTR beating the Golf R even from a dig without AWD traction. And it's nice to see the CTR walking the RS and R with ease, and it was actually matching the AMG too from a roll even though they got a jump.

2018 Acura RLX Arrives in Showrooms with Striking Redesign

Nov 6, 2017 - TORRANCE, Calif.
  • RLX adopts new Acura design direction reflecting brand's Precision Crafted Performance DNA
  • Top-trim RLX with 377-horsepower1 Sport Hybrid SH-AWD® system now $4,050 less than out-going model
  • New advanced 10-speed automatic transmission standard in RLX with Precision All-Wheel SteeringTM (P-AWS®)
  • Traffic Jam Assist, a driver assistive technology, joins standard AcuraWatch® suite
Acura's top-of-the-line luxury sports sedan, the 2018 RLX, begins arriving in dealer showrooms tomorrow with new front and rear styling inspired by the new Acura design direction and its signature diamond pentagon grille. With a simplified lineup, two models are available—each in a single high-specification trim: The 2018 Acura RLX P-AWS starts with a Manufacturer's Suggested Retail Price (MSRP2) of $54,900; The 2018 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWDTM now starts at $61,900, a reduction of $4,050 compared to the out-going model with Advance Package. (Prices exclude $965 destination and other charges.) All-new seats are now available in a rich Espresso leather and two new premium exterior paint options are available for the 1st time on RLX.

The 2018 Acura RLX showcases the brand's Precision Crafted Performance DNA in two distinct high-performance powertrains, making it the most powerful Acura after the NSX supercar. With the most performance of any Acura sedan, the RLX Sport Hybrid SH-AWDTM seamlessly integrates a direct-injected V-6 with three electric motors and Super Handling All-Wheel DriveTM for instant acceleration, outstanding all-weather performance and precise handling. The RLX Sport Hybrid delivers 377 peak total system horsepower and 341 lb.-ft. peak total system torque with its powertrain sharing its basic concept and some components with the NSX supercar. Also available is the 2018 Acura RLX P-AWS with Precision All-Wheel SteeringTM (P-AWS ), powered by a 3.5-liter Direct Injection SOHC i-VTEC V-6 engine delivering peak horsepower of 310 (SAE net) and 272 lb.-ft. of peak torque (SAE net) and mated to a new 10-speed automatic transmission delivering a more responsive and refined driving experience.

The 2018 Acura RLX P-AWS has EPA fuel economy ratings of 20/29/23 mpg, and the 2018 Acura RLX Sport Hybrid came in at 28/29/28 mpg (city/highway/combined)3.

In addition to the diamond pentagon grille, the 2018 Acura RLX design enhancements include a more sculpted hood, new wheel designs, newly designed LED taillights, exposed dual exhaust finishers and gloss black rear diffuser. The 2018 RLX also offers a fresh color pallet with 6 new exterior paint options (seven total) including two new premium colors - Brilliant Red Metallic and Majestic Black Pearl.

Inside, the 2018 Acura RLX receives premium new materials and touchpoints including completely redesigned Milano leather seats with high-contrast, piping and stitching, as well as a new Espresso interior option and available black headliner, all of which add a new level of sophistication to an interior with class-leading space and comfort.

Working in conjunction with Adaptive Cruise Control and Low Speed Follow, Traffic Jam Assist (TJA) reduces driver stress in highly congested traffic situations by helping keep the vehicle centered in the lane and at a set interval from a vehicle detected ahead.

The AcuraWatchTM suite also includes:
  • Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) with Low Speed Follow
  • Collision Mitigation Braking SystemTM (CMBSTM)
  • Forward Collision Warning (FCW)
  • Lane Keeping Assist (LKAS)
  • Road Departure Mitigation (RDM) with Lane Departure Warning (LDW)

how many used RLX sport hybrid you can find in choice color at this price?. RLX should be put on comparison test with 5 series/7 series with all the objective criterias, like handling, breaking, quietness, high speed fuel economics, body motion control. I bet RLX will win all of them when same set of tires are used. large BMW are wobbly with skinny 245 size tires. it is now undercutting similar equipped BMW by $15k.

the RLX can't compete with the 5 series AND the 7 series

I don't even know why the 7 series was thrown in. it has WAY more tech and is WAY bigger than the RLX and costs up to 2.5 times more

I test drove the RLX before and it's very comfortable, quiet, and roomy. The materials feel way better than a regular Accord or TLX. It's too bad when it first came out, it didn't have the styling to back it up. Looking at some of the photos above, this facelift looks much better but I'd imagine it's too late now. I thought the new grille works quite well for the RLX even though it's just a nose job and not a complete redesign.

I'd definitely consider a used RLX sport hybrid for $30k lol. Not bad for a car with a torque vectoring hybrid system and fully loaded.

Other than the styling, I thought going so well equipped for the base RLX was another main reason the car flopped. It caused the base price to be high, even higher than most German competitors. If it started at $40k with less features, perhaps it would have done a little better.

The MMC isn't that bad. Better looking than the current design. But I just meant that if I was in the market for one down the road, a Sport Hybrid for under $30K wouldn't be that bad a deal.

Someone here looking to buy a BMW 740 hybrid? Otherwise I have no idea why you're bringing it up since I specifically said that a 2-3 year old 2018 RLX Sport Hybrid for under $30K would be a good deal. And they will be under $30K in 2-3 years.

you only found 2014 for $32k with 45k miles. there is very little chance you can find 3 year old MMC RLX for this price especially premium colors like brilliant red metallic. you have more luck finding a used 3 year old BMW.

Yea, because acura cant sell the RLX to begin with. Kinda hard to find when the RLX is out sold 10:1. And dont even say its on purpose to keep it in higher demand or something stupid like that.

Acura shouldnt have wasted their time on a MMC for this car. They should have scrapped it and started on a new car, one with style, presence, and something to compete in an actual segment, not kinda inbetween like they are and make it competitive.

RLX is already very competitive for its segement. the quietest, efficient, fastest and best handling on skinny all season tires.
to give you clue of Honda technology power. MDX hybrid can pull 0.87G. 0-130mph in 32 second. 22mpg combined. RLX is much more powerfull, lighter and aerodynamic. technology wise second to none. Traffic Jam assist technology.

https://www.caranddriver.com/reviews...id-test-review
While the Volvo XC90 T8 plug-in is quicker at low and medium velocities, the MDX hybrid takes the lead beyond 110 mph. (We haven’t recently tested the only other three-row hybrid crossover, the Infiniti QX60.)

I posted the 2014 RLX as an example of a RLX Sport Hybrid that's 2-3 years old and that, with some negotiating, can be had for under $30K.

How do you know "there is very little chance you can find 3 year old MMC RLX" for a similar price? The MMC isn't going to fix the RLX sales problem. Dealers will have to continue discounting them to sell them. That means poor resale value.

I've already proven how wrong you were about the RLX's "best in class resale value" --> https://acurazine.com/forums/automot...387118/page74/

I've proven how a 2-3 year old RLX Sport Hybrid can be had for under $30K. 3 years from now, I'll prove how a 2018 RLX Sport Hybrid can be had for under $30K as well.

If I were to buy an RLX, it definitely wouldn't be in a flamboyant color like Brilliant Red Metallic. That's my least favorite color, especially for a large cruiser like the RLX.

And there's more than just one 2014 RLX sport hybrid available for close to $30K. I didn't post this one because miles are higher than I prefer.

Acura shouldnt have wasted their time on a MMC for this car. They should have scrapped it and started on a new car, one with style, presence, and something to compete in an actual segment, not kinda inbetween like they are and make it competitive.
Don't go bringing logic into an RLX thread

to give you clue of Honda technology power. MDX hybrid can pull 0.87G. 0-130mph in 32 second. 22mpg combined. RLX is much more powerfull, lighter and aerodynamic. technology wise second to none. Traffic Jam assist technology.
So, the Volvo is more useful at all legal times in the US, but the MDX would be great at breaking the US highway laws?

^ Didn't you know soccer moms like to see how many G's their SUV's can pull and how fast they can get their SUV's to 130mph? It's what they all do after dropping their kids off at school.

I can't imagine anything more terrifying than a little Asian lady driving 130mph

It looks like such a half finished bumper and the car actually looks pretty decent in whilte at this angle at least. The bumper just looks unfinished though.
