TL armrest removal... Ebay replacement pad

So, I bought the Ebay $20 vinyl (leatherette) arm rest leather replacement part. Quality is very good.

Color isn't 100% perfect Acura, but close enough that no one else but my OCD self would ever notice.
I like the fact it's a synthetic leather and therefore should hold up much better than the original.

Here's a few pics... But, my only question is how to remove the top (leather covered) part of the arm rest from the base?
Looks like once it's off, the leather skin is just held pressed in with the plastic and held together with a few screws.

Original armrest... Not terrible, but looking worn.

Replacement skin.

Color match example.... Held against my passenger seat.
Close enough IMHO. This was $20. Replacement from Acura comes as a whole unit for over $200.

Read this DIY thread on the armrest: https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-p...cement-640667/.

There are a number of philips-head screws that hold the armrest and shell/frame onto the console.

The foam padding and leather are attached to the base by adhesive as well as screws that secure the armrest shell.

Get dense foam padding to put under the leather, and use 3M 77 adhesive to attach the leather; it's all described in the linked thread.

G/L.

Too bad there's no images in that DIY write up anymore.
