Michelin Pilot Super Sport?

Anyone has this on their 2016 and up ILX? I'm looking into replacing my OEM tires, I believe they're continental? I hope I got this right... 225/40R18 = 25.1x8.9R18 is the tire size? I just don't wanna order the wrong tire size online. I have the Aspec Model with the 18" Diamond cut wheels. I'm looking into this tire because I read on forums that this tire was quieter than the OEM continental (sport?) tires and more fun to use during my time in Hawaii. What do you think? Wheres the best place to buy them and get them shipped to Hawaii? Also, would you highly recommend this and would it change the road noise level and increase performance feel when driving?

I've tried the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ and they were pretty bad in terms of ride quality and noise. They were from a my friend's 3rd gen TL so the sizing are different at 235/45R17. Even with more sidewall height they rode too stiff and sounded just as loud as the stock Continentals, which is a very loud tire. The PSS is probably even stiffer than the Pilot Sport A/S 3+ so the ride will be pretty harsh on a 18in wheel. The PSS will also lower your fuel mileage by around 10% and probably won't last more than 25k miles.

I've tried the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus and found them to be extremely quiet and comfortable in terms of ride quality. They don't come in 225/40R18 so I had to go with the 225/45R18. Rolling radius went from 12in to 12.3in so not much of a difference. The P7s pretty much eliminated the loud road noise problem of the 2016 ILX Aspec. Noise level on new asphalt at 75mph went from 71db to 69db, on grooved concrete went from 76-77db to 73db, and on really rough surfaces went from 80-81db to 76db. They also grip way better when taking off than the OEM Continental. I usually spin the Continental all the way up to 4k RPM in dry conditions without brake torquing. The P7s only spin to around 2k RPM. The only problem with the P7s is that they are really soft so there is a sizable delay when turning the wheel. I hated that so much that I switched to the Pirelli P Zero All Season Plus. The P Zero A/S+ does come in OEM sizing of 225/40R18 and are almost as quiet as the P7s, provide more grip, and ride around the same as the stock Continentals.

I think you should try the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus first since they come with a 30 day trial period where you can switch them with another Pirelli tire if you don't like them. Just make sure you buy and install from an authorized Pirelli dealer so they don't charge you for installation if you decide to switch to another Pirelli tire. The P7s are the best in term of road noise and ride quality. The P Zero All Season Plus is almost as good in terms of road noise and ride quality but has way better steering feel and grip when you're pushing it hard in the turns. The PSS are a waste unless you're constantly taking corners at 2x the posted speed. The Pirellis offer much better road manners, cost $50+ less per tire, and should last twice as long as the PSS.

I have the PSS, but I'm not using the factory wheel or specs. I went with the much lighter Enkei TS9 18" x 8" wrapped with 245 35 18. The A-Spec wheels have Helmholtz resonators and are really heavy to reduce cabin noise, so yeah, I can't say it's quieter. Way more grip, better feel, and slightly lower gear ratio with the shorter sidewall.

Thanks for the reply. I'm looking at the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 plus or the Continental extreme contact DWS 06. I'm in Hawaii and have no snow here. I read reviews on either one of these tires and they both seem good but people report the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3 plus is a little louder than the DWS06. If its negligible then I'll go with the Michelins since its "sportier". What do you think?

So....in regards to road noise, wouldn't either one of these tires have less road noise compared to my OEM Continental Contiprocontact tires? The current OEM tires are rough, loud loud loud and getting louder now with 25,000 miles.

I think Acura did research and got the quietest at the price-point.

What do you mean? Quietest wheel or tire?

Trying to live up to the "Luxury" title in a light, tight car ain't easy. There is high tech put into the wheels so I'm assuming they did some tire comparison also.
Assuming being the key word on my part as I didn't concern myself with road noise.

The Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus will give the best ride and are the quietest. The Pirelli P Zero All Season Plus is a little louder but is still much quieter than the OEM Continentals. It should give around the same grip as the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ but is much less harsh a a good deal quieter. I've tried the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ from a gen 3 TL (235/45R17) and they are harsher than the OEM tires and produce about the same noise level. I was about to get the Michelin Pilot Sport A/S 3+ because I usually get my tires at Costco and they're the best option there. I had to start researching more options since they were just as loud as the stock tires and rode much harsher. The Continental extreme contact DWS 06 is pretty overrated. I doubt it's as quiet as the P Zero A/S+ since tirerack rated them louder. I also have friends that have the DWS 06 and they don't like the sloppy turn in feel due to the soft sidewall.

I think the choice is pretty simple once you decide what you really want. The Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus will give you the best ride comfort and are the quietest. They offer more grip than the OEM Continentals, are much more quiet, and ride quite a bit softer. Steering feel and response is around the same as OEM as both have pretty soft sidewalls. The Pirelli P Zero All Season Plus are a little noisier than the P7s but are still noticeably quieter than OEM tires. They're less comfortable than the P7s but offer much better turn in and feedback along with a little more grip. Like I said in my earlier post, try the Pirelli Cinturato P7 All Season Plus first to see if the turn in feel is a problem for you. If not then great. If you don't like it then take advantage of Pirelli's 30 day trial period and switch to the Pirelli P Zero All Season Plus.

Thank you everyone for your input and long posts! Super helpful. I ended buying the Michelin Super Sports for $180 at my local Acura dealer, it was actually cheaper than Tirerack and no shipping costs. They said it should come in within 1 week and get them installed by next week! Hopefully this will be better than the Continental Contiprocontact OEM wheels which is more expensive. I'll let you guys know how it rides next week. I read reviews on the OEM continental tires and they're terrible. Being in Hawaii, I don't have to worry about snow on Oahu, so summer tires are perfect for me in dry and wet.
