MODS for the Gran Coupe UPDATE: RaceChip Arrived!!!
I may lower the car but right now I'm looking at rear wheel spacers to push the tire out to be flush with the fender. The picture I last put up is the exact same wheel on the same car with a 5 mm spacer. That's what I'll do as well.
is the one you ordered custom forged or cast HRE?
I mean unless you don't have a choice (fixed width and offset), you should not have to use spacers when you are spending that much $$ on a set of wheels.

Np. or you can just covert it to Studs, it fixes all your issues
and you can get some fancy lug nuts too. JDM yo

Thanks guys, I can't wait either. I am so sick of these god damn run flats. You "hit" a manhole recess and it sounds like a bomb going off in the car. It's a $100K car with a truck ride, the price of the wheels/tires will be money well-spent.
BMW will tell you ad nauseum the car's suspension was engineered for a softer ride on run flats. BULLFUCKINGSHIT. When the slaesman told me that I looked at him and said "Randy, don't try that BS with me, you know I know better." lol
Yah... however, there is 1 downside about swtiching to summer tires...
your steering will become very loose in Comfort mode. I think BMW tuned their E-steering with runflat and now you just lost a lot of weight from each corner by switching to summer tires, the steering in Comfort feels a little too loose for my liking.
But still better than having runflat.

the guys on the 6post.com board all say otherwise oonowindoo, I hope you're wrong! Even if it does as you say, I only use Comfort+ mode on the highway and switch to Sport getting off and driving in the city/town.
Maybe Loose is not the correct word as it is still very precise even in Comfort. Lighter is the better description. The car's steering becomes more sensitive when you combined lighter steering + precision.
I am not sure what the 6post people have said but you will see it for yourself... let me know how you feel when you get the wheels/tires.

Found a 5mm spacer set with extended lugs from Macht Schnell at European Autosource for $80 and pulled the trigger on it. I bought my body colored reflectors from them too-good company it seems. Oh and I guess while I'm plugging vendors, I should plug "Vibe Motorsports" for the wheel/tire set. Nate was great to work with. I got the very last set of HRE's they had in stock which won't get replenished until late August.

When I tried placing the order on the package I wanted, Nate from Vibe told me they didn't have the wheels and they wouldn't be back in stock until August. I got on eBay because I saw Vibe had a set that would fit my vehicle listed there for sale. I called Nate back up and told him that and he grabbed them for me. He was the guy in charge of inventory and didn't know he had them in inventory! lol. They'll be here Thursday!
Just out of curiousity. Are those the "ideal" width and offset for the 6? i am not too familiar with the offset and width for the 6.
I have always thought they could be a lot more aggressive on the offset, especially on the rear. 40mm - 5mm is still 35mm.

Oops...my bad. Pretty pictures, no ready.
I was certain that was the flow formed wheel, not true forged.
Shit, even better...
I wish I had the nuts to put something forged on the Wagon.

car rides 100% better. I took it down the road and purposely aimed for a manhole cover in front of my friend's house that would make the car sound like you hit a 10" hole with the run flats on--nothing but a slight thump. Perfect.
What is your feedback on the steering?
You can definitely feel the loss of the sidewall stiffness. I haven't tracked it yet but hope to get it back on track at the Glen this next Monday after the 6 Hour IMSA race.

Can't wait to see them on your car.

Looking forward to pics!
