It's my client's car. I'm working on his other car interior, but he has a lot of fun toys.
I didn't plan to take any photos this day, but he happened to found me and my canyon buddies in Angeles Crest Highway. I just told him to stop right there, I'm gonna snap some photos haha The car looks very sexy.
The E39 M5 was back when the M line still meant and stood for something. Back before you could get M models with automatic transmission, with power trunk closing and power doorpull closing, and a large host of other luxury car only options that you would never see on an M car.
Now, the formula is to put so much horsepower in that none of the luxury items affect the car's performance too much..... two ends to a means, I suppose.
My wife and kids surprised me with an exotic car drive event yesterday for Father's Day. 5 laps through an autocross set up in my choice of a Gallardo, Stringray, i8 or F-Type. Based solely on looks and sound, I chose the F-Type. The first lap was a slow cruise to get to know the course, but once that was over I was allowed to go WOT. The sounds emitted from the F-Type's exhaust would make the $130k price tag worth every penny, and 550 supercharged ponies are nothing to sneeze at. It was a very cool experience and my son, most of all, was excited for me. I've now officially fallen in love with the F-Type. The video doesn't do the car justice and I wish my wife had recorded the entire 5 laps because on lap 4 I got the rear end squirmy and went all out until the brake cones at the end of the straight away, but it's all she captured.
This was about a block from where I live. More and more showing up over here. Sorry for the terrible cellphone pics, but you get the idea. I blocked out the plate, just for the owner's own privacy:
As fast and crazy as the newer cars are, the rawness, slowness, and focus on handling of the E30 is something to be desired. Yeah it was fast for its time... But it's balls slow these days. And yet I bet it's more thrilling to drive.
The old adage- it's better to drive a slow car fast, than a fast car slow, even though you're going the same speed in both scenarios.
spotted the Jag downtown last week - it was featured on Smoking Tire, it is a custom job with a Lingenfelter spec 6.2L V8 and 6 speed manual - read about it here: https://petrolicious.com/articles/th...ould-have-made
R34s are still forbidden fruit for you, for like 8 more years
I can get an s14 though. I just don't have the means to JDM y0 it up. I've jerked off to enough R34 vids/pics to desensitize the forbidden fruit factor.
I still love the timeless style of the S14s. I'm biased having owned a 95 240SX. I've never been a fan of the S13 fastback look personally, and the S15 just looked like they tried too hard. For me the S14 will always be the sweat spot for that line.

I always liked the S15 the most, but after that, it'd be the more angular S14.
