hey guys nick here, would like to add that our group is evolving and growing quickly, good to see you guys out there. we have definatly developed numbers with probably 15 solid members that meet up monthly and at least 70 members on our facebook page. we welcome not just TL's. We have TL, RL, TSX, Integra, CSX, MDX and RDX all as part of our group.

Used to have a 2006 Anthracite TL with A spec kit, lowered, rims and CT exhaust, J-pipe & PCD Delete but moved on to a GS350 F-sport when it came out.

Yeah, last I saw your TL was at a Thursday car meet a few years ago. Nice to see she's been good to you and doesn't have the dreaded transmission issue.

 

yeah its been good to me so far. The group has grown big ever since. You should switch back to Acura

hey guys so glad i found this, just grabbed my first tl. think i got hit with the dreaded transmission. my car slipped coming back from work in northvan ,it revved real hard from turning left. pulled over restarted and got to mcgill at 40 thx to the shitty north van traffic lol. anywho for 30mins it was the same so i gave up and called a mechanic and got quoted for 2500 rebuild. my buddy drove the car cause i was so pissed and i drove his. on the way there he kept calling me saying i must be high and i kept telling him no, so we get to the mechanic i hop in he drives and tells me he feels nothing wrong. and i drove him, today i drove it to work again no problems one minor jerk at 40 after speeding up after a speed bump i pulled over and just put it in N and drove off again been fine again drives smoooth like the first time i got it. any help is much appreciated. thinking i should just either start looking for a used tranny and rebuild it

Hey guys! 4 days ago I bought a black 2007 TL Type-S. Wow what a car! I had no idea the following these things had! I bought it because my Roush charged 6.2l F-150 was just killing me at the gas stations as a daily driver. This truck is fast. 600hp. But not practical for Vancity,especially the North Shore.

Anyways, my TL Type-S is basically stock, with exception to some tinted windows. It has 121,000 km's. Seems to be in mint condition . I'm a firm believer in aftermarket goodies. The first thing I want to do is upgrade the exhaust. possibly with the J-pipe. Looking for a local place to hook me up the parts in the area. Any direction would bet greatly appreciated. I'm very excited about the build on this car. A clean slate to work with. Also. I will try to join the Facebook group for tips and talk. Of course the HFL is not functioning.

if you don't.mind me asking, how much did you buy the car for? and auto or 6mt?

 

Picked out up for 12,900! They put new tires and full servicing on it too. Although its black in color I've noticed in certain light, it has a deep blue pearl to it. It's an automatic with 6mt option. Paddle shifters on steering wheel and on the stick. It is fully loaded and the interior is mint. When you really put your foot into it, you can spin it out. This thing is surprisingly fast.

 

HFL is easy to access and replace, when mine quit I purchased one out of the US and picked it up across the border. The dollar was better back then though. A local shop could build you an exhaust but i don't know of any that actually sell the parts. I purchased my J-pipe from RV6 in the us as well.

 

Is there a good place to access aftermarket wheels n tires locally? or websites? I need to start shopping my options!!

 

thought i'd drop a line for anyone that still checks this..
from chilliwack but am in Vancouver ever couple weeks, always see a ton of nice TL's that way..
i've got a '16 TLX 3.5 V6 SH-AWD, vinyl wrapped red, lowered on 20's, can't miss it..

Hey guys I just got a 3rd gen TL about 3 months ago, wondering if you guys had any recommendations on Acura mechanics in the lower mainland other than the dealerships. Or any recommendations on what i could use besides the shitty cassette aux adapters to play my music hahah.
