Just wanted to say hi to the CL community. I just picked up a one owner 1997 CL 3.0 Premium. The car is in good condition from what I can tell it's got 190k miles and will need a 2nd timing belt soon as it was done previously at 90k. Right now the brakes are really bad I believe the rotors are really warped from the shuttering it makes when braking. I just ordered front pads and rotors and plan to do that. Is there anything specific about doing a brake job for this car that I need to worry about.
As far as the timing belt goes I'm looking into what a shop would charge me as well as looking at doing it myself. I have never done one before.
The price I got it for I couldn't pass up at $500 so my plan right now is to fix it up and use it as a daily driver as well as a 2nd car that is an auto when my wife doesn't want to drive my stick shift Jetta.
