Dealer got some 18's (though no A spec yet - maybe in the next few days). Drove a 4 tech and a 6 advance. The 4 was "acceptable" and I really liked the 6. I don't like the chrome trim though. Really look forward to checking out the a spec as it looks like a good "technology plus" offering.

Dealer is out of 17's but no interest in budging on price at this time.

Beautiful! The more I see of the '18 TLX, the more I like it. That gray '18 TLX Advance you posted is sweet! And thank GOD, they finally ditched those hideous wheels from the 4 cylinder TLX!!!

Just walked my dealer. They had one advanced and 3 Aspecs. The ASpec looks really good. They had 2 black which looks really badass. But I thought the grey looked even better. The rims are awesome. Perfect color and size. The wider tires look awesome. It was all wheel drive with the tech package. I believe the sticker was $45.7. It had the red interior which I don't think works well with the grey. My only real gripe with the exterior is the obnoxiously large front A logo. It's way too large. If it was half the size it would be perfect. Overall the car looks a lot better then the past model. I will do a test drive in upcoming weeks.

Great pics!! All the models look fantastic. But am I the only one who thinks the Elite looks better than the Aspec? I like the chrome.

In Canada you can get the Elite combined with Aspec, so in other words you can get a fully loaded TLX with Aspec (or tech with Aspec for that matter).

Without the chrome, the car looks more "sporty". I like the ASpec better without the chrome. Depends on tastes

So in comparing features the A-SPEC is cosmetic, nothing sporty about it outside of that really. The Advance seems to have far more useful features. I do like this refresh and would like to test drive one and go from there.

Is the rear on the i4 any different at all vs the 15-17s? Maybe the "lip" doesn't come up as much?

the base wheels are better than those 15-17 wheels base 17's. that helps with the overall look as well

Based on the Acura build you don't get the following if you pick the ASPEC over the Advanced model:

Exterior:

-LED puddle lights
-Power folding mirrors
-Surround view cameras

Interior:
-Heated rear seats and wheel
-Heated windshield de-icer
-Rear door smart handles

Safety/Driver Assistance:
-Remote start
-Auto dimming side mirrors

I could live without all of that, and I bet a lot you could install some of it yourself. However, those in colder climates or park in tight spaces might prefer the Advanced.

On a $45K TLX that would be close to $5000. Considering TLX 2016 sales were down 10,000 units from 2015 I would think they don't want to play games & have to get the sales volume up. 2017 sales look like last year if you extend the first 4 months out. 12,000 X 3 = 36,000 cars. The 12,000 was greatly helped by a doubling of volume in the April with the second best month @ 5258 in the TLX's history.

They were pretty aggressive here culling through prior owners lists. I got a number of direct mail offers from the two local dealers.
i agree completely. The A-Spec will get a bit of a sales spike with enthusiasts, but we are a small, part of Acuras customer base. Most Acura customers will not care at all about the cosmetic changes. And that skike will be short lived. Now, put a 400 hp turbo on the SH-AWD A-Spec then we can talk about something special.

I agree. I think folks like us will feed a spike in interest, but the market they've culitivated over the last few years, if theyre willing to spend that type of dough with Acura, will buy an Advance. Which by the way, if you don't mind the chrome, in that copper color with the expresso seats and real wood trim is a beautiful sight to behold.

Wow can't wait to see one. My local dealer told me they only got one so far and they were doing PDI so I could not see the car going to go next week. According to them they have a few more coming in this week. Has anyone taken one for a test drive yet ?

I work at an Acura dealer and I cant imagine us ever telling someone they cant see a car for any reason. If its on our property we take the customer to the car. You may not be able to test drive until the pdi is done but you could definitely see it and sit in it.

I could not make this up. 20+ years ago when the Dodge Stealth & Mitsubishi VR4's came out a friend of mine went to a Dodge dealer to look at one - the totally loaded VR4. My friend had a year old Corvette at the time. The dealer had one in stock out on the lot. The salesman walks us over to it and let us look at it. The car was locked, so we asked him to unlock it. He said the dealer would not allow them to unlock and open the door unless we gave him a deposit to buy the car. My friend had his checkbook and a clear title to his Corvette in his pocket. After asking for the Sales Manager and he confirmed the policy, we walked out. To this day I drive by that dealer nearly every day and have never stepped foot on their lot since.
