What a great race, action, strategy, driving at the limits for many, daring passes,....
Even Alonso finished
Even that kid who was in tears with Kimi retiring got invited to meet the Kimster in the Ferrari paddock.

One of the best races in recent memory, and Seb's move on Bottas was that of an ice-cold pro. The Pink Panthers continue to impress with their consistency. Meanwhile, from the sound of his radio-comms, LCH may need to bump up that cardio-training.... This season already seems like one for the history books.

James Allen believes the young boy and his family being invited in to the paddock is a turn for the better for fans' involvement with F1 rather than being pushed away as in the past:

^ +1, probably never would have happened under Bernie, but I'd bet someone at Liberty Media saw that video and tracked down that family and made it happen.
Great PR for the sport.

that poor kid's face when Kimi went out was priceless. OTOH, I've been driven (nearly) to tears a couple times; once when Mansell's car stopped at the Canadian GP because he was driving too slow and it stalled losing the race and again when Prost was taken out by Senna in the Japanese GP. No one ever came and got my crying ass and took me to the hospitality area!

Wonder if the combination of the bump with Kimi & the old-spec engine was to blame for Bottas' lack of pace compared to the front 2.

^^^ I'd say yes especially when Wolff said they should not have gambled and put a new power unit in Bottas' car.

Well now, lovely as it was, let's not get too carried away by our sentimentality....
To my mind (as opposed to my heart), THIS was the best moment of the race....

Great race indeed.
It sounded like Ferrari tracked down the child and his Family when they say how distraught the kid was about Kimsters retirement from the race and made it happen. Very cool gesture regardless of who made it happen.

^^^ Actually the report I read said it was a Liberty representative who saw it and thought the sport could use a feel good moment.
