I went to LA with the family once and we went to Hollywood walk because that's what you do when your a family of yokel tourists. Stayed down the street from the star sidewalk and the folks wanted to go see the stars and shit. Well, it was late afternoon and I was like, we gotta do this quick. Long story short, they didn't believe me and we were at the far end of the walk, facing the whole way back to the hotel as the sun was going down.
Shit gets (got? I imagine it's still the same) weird(er) really fucking quick. Fucking Haitian voodoo man chanting around and shit and I was like, this motherfucker isn't kidding, we gotta pick up the pace and get back to the safe place.

That was a trip that started with renting a car from an off brand rental joint in Inglewood. Back when you didn't go to Inglewood.

It just seems crazy that so many people have so much angst inside. And for what reasons? Why so angry? Why so crazy? Is it the huge disparity between rich and poor?
I guess Im just in a bubble. I've always viewed prison as the place to avoid at all costs. Don't do shit to get you locked up... But it seems these people don't fear it... But almost embrace it, like a passage. They don't want to go, but if they do, it was all worth it. I always thought that nothing is worth getting locked up for.
It's different up north. Our gas stations are open all night and don't have the teller behind bullet proof glass. Yeah shit happens, but it's very rare. I dunno. We don't have bars in our windows. We don't worry about our doors being locked. You don't worry about being outside when it's dark out. Yes, there are places to avoid, and yeah sometimes bad shit happens, but again, it's rare.
