Fuck, painting calipers takes so long.
I ended up removing my Brembos to paint them properly. Leaving them on just seems... Half assed. How the hell do you paint the backside of the caliper properly, and not bleed paint all over the mounting bracket?
I havent stripped the caliper threads yet. I'm hoping it just takes being very careful when reinstalling. I spin the mounting bolt in just using fingers... If there's too much resistance, I back it out a bit, and go again. The first caliper went back on ok, but the second one is still drying. The clear coat takes forever to dry. Sigh. Was hoping to get all four done this weekend but I only did the fronts. I made the mistake of not waiting long enough for the clear to dry and end up having to sand the fucker down and redoing it.
CS,B. I got nothing else. No one is saying anything so I'll continue rambling with myself.

Why paint the backside, who is ever going to see it . Just mask off the holes with tape?

Hey taco
hey man, how's it going?
oh pretty good. Just watching the Calgary-Colorado hockey game
oh nice, who's winning?
colorado is down a couple. Not surprising. They're the worst team in the league, by a margin
yeah, sucks to be them this year, but they will rebuild eventually, I'm sure.
what did you have for dinner?
i BBQ'd some chicken, grilled asparagus and rice on the side. It was not too shabby.
shit, I just smoked meth again. I haven't had food for days
yeah but that's because you forgot to round up the T-Rex's first
i know, but shit, it's so much work
but you don't even have a job. Er, I mean jerb
hey now- sucking dick for bus fare is a legit living. Just because I don't earn enough to have to pay taxes doesn't mean I don't work
yeah you're right. Soory.
its ok. I'm Soory too.
two soories make a right, Amirite?
LOL, yeah man!

Nah. Not my style.
Besides, I wasn't sure if that'd get me more or less spit in my soup.

I sanded the whole caliper... Every nook and cranny. If I'm gonna do it, I might as well do it right.
The brembos are notorious (apparently) for having the threads strip on the mounting holes. The caliper is aluminum and aluminum Doesn't do so well with being torqued. Not sure how often they shit the bed, but I've seen a number of threads about it, even in the last year. I think you just gotta be as careful as possible when putting the bolts back in. Or I dun o, maybe I still will fuck one of them up. I hope not. I'll find out in a few hours.

Yeah I was scared about the stripped bracket too so didn't use any power tools when removing or installing when I did my brakes last month. So far so good ...

the fix looks easy enough, with that steel thread insert kit. But it's pretty pricey for what it is.

FuckJoe, what kind of Benz is that? C300?
what engine is in there? Coles notes on the car?

Matches the amber in the headlights very nicely... I love it with the anthracite grey body
I initially put a dark grey brembo decal on but didn't like it. Ended up changing it to black.

The 435GC I had for a few days in desutchland had that shit too.. I was like how the fuck do you turn it off? Can you even??
I start playing with the bajillion different fucking settings, having zero clue what I was even pressing. The words were beyond my comprehension.
Somehow managed to to turn it off.
that or I fried a portion of the Ecu

Yeah. This one is actually not terribly counterintuitive. There's a little button right in the middle of the center console thing with a circular arrow and an "A".
I thought it was some sort of automatic recirculating AC thing... But the AC controls are down where the cupholder is. The circle A means the dumb engine shutoff thing.

Once you understand what it means I guess it makes sense.

The CLA /GLA line is such bull shit... It's supposed to be the watered down more affordable option of Merc's but it's basically a shittier basic C or GL . Why do companies insist on trying to increase their market penetration rather than focus on their target demographic

Better swing by Costco for a tub of sunscreen right after landing ... You're not going to make it more than a day

Yeah son, no sun for the last 5 months lol. I will pasty white there. I used to fake tan a bit before going somewhere but these I don't give a shit. I'll also be sure to wear my camera around my neck, wear knee high socks and slap a Canadian flag patch on my murse. Tourista!

Looks good, Adam.
I've never taken it off either...I got it down to about 4 hours for all 4 calipers to change the color.
I took my time and you'd never see the overspray or anything.
Pretty sure the caliper bolts seize due to dissimilar metals and probably salt...
I found the white brembo decals always popped best.
