2016 vs 2017 TLX

Hi all,
I'm looking to replace my 2010 G37 wiht a TLX, because of the reliability issues.
I'm only looking at the 4-cyl models, since I want reliability, and I already have one gas guzzler (e39 M5).
First, what difference is there, if any between 2015 to 2017 base model TLX?

I found a 2017 base TLX with 1200km for $31k CAD. Although I was focusing on a base+tech, this seems like a decent price up in Canada.
So the question is would you rather have a 2016 TLX base+tech /w around 15K km, or a 2017 base with 1200? They are in the same price range.

Last, has anyone had buyers remorse? As an example, I bought a 2010 base G37, and regretted is since (no sunroof/bluetooth/memory seats, very basic).

TLX 4 cylinder seems like a high reliability play based on everything I have seen here. I would say get the tech, because 9000 miles is a really low risk for a Honda 4 cylinder engine.

Most of the people who have had buyers remorse with their car purchase have since left the board (full disclosure, I haven't bought a TLX), but for everyday usage, you're going to love the TLX.

Most, if not all, the buyers remorse has come from the V6/ZF side - I don't know of too many who had serious ongoing complaints with the 4 cyl beyond a few who were unhappy with some jerkiness with the DCT. Acura has had several software updates on the DCT which address those issues.

I'd get the 2016 with the tech - the additional tech features are well worth it!

Agree anyone who has a choice, 6MT, ZF or DCT the DCT is the pick of the litter. Better performance than a 6MT with the comfort of a AT in heavy traffic.

I say go with the tech package, the ELS package is very important to me.

I'm not sure if it is the same for Canada-spec, but US-spec base model I4 has vinyl..err..leatherette seats. You have to get the tech package for leather.

The base TLX will have more options than your G37, but if you really want to be impressed, go for the Tech! Leather, blind spot monitor, nav, ELS sound (would buy it for this option alone), and some other goodies. Would definitely recommend the Tech model with a few more miles as '16 and '17 have the same reliability.

I pulled the trigger on the 2017 base, it comes with v6 rims, and I'm also getting the Aero kit installed ($1700CAD).

Did they include the V6 wheels in the deal, was it in the aero kit or did you pay something separately?

It is meant to be a winter beater, daily driver, replacing the G37, that's proven to be quite unreliable.
These pictures are from the for sale add, before the kit install.
I am hoping to just drive it, and perform regular maintenance, like all Hondas and Acuras I've had before.

OK, such as?
The previous owner upgraded the wheels, he traded it in for a new Maxima. I've checked carproof, it's clean.
He wanted more power.
The car is being sold by Nissan dealer.

I see. I thought it was a car from an Acura dealer (loaner or staff) but if it was owned privately, case solved.

I was curious because "has been there, done that"; I requested V6 wheels... on my then-new Accord 1996. It would be nice to have a $700 optional V6 wheels upgrade for TLX 4-cyl. buyers (standard ones look questionable).

Call me crazy, although I enjoyed the V6 wheels on my 2015 3.5, I actually quite like the stock rims on my 2.4 Tech. I think the black/aluminium combo is both practical and sharp with the BWP. Not as sharp with other colours. In fact I also have a separate set of these rims for my winter tires

The kit is installed, minus the trunk spoiler. I originally asked for the kit without the spoiler, but since it cannot be separated, I've asked them to put that on as well.

Very sharp! I was looking at a 14 TL driving near me today. Decent looking from the back, but i think where the TLX shines in comparison is the side sheet metal. Your pictures reinforce that!

So, I got the word back from the dealer. The aero kit does not include the spoiler...which I didn't want to begin with, so no big loss.
Now I just wave to wait for it to get shipped, it's going to take 2 weeks to be delivered.
