I had a substantial sum (enough for authentic forged 20's) disappear from my Chase checking account a few months back when someone called in with my information and added their number to the account to use the 'virtual atm' to make 2 withdrawals back to back. I put in a claim and they kept me in suspense for 7 fortnight while they "investigated" the claim and had me repeatedly fill out an affidavit stating some personal information about transactions and that I had nothing to do with it. Finally, I called and got mildly hostile about their system getting played and me getting the shaft and being lucky I was still able to pay my bills whilst they kept my sixpence hostage. The clerical advisor spoke with her superior and within an hour, peace was restored to my financial fortress.
So, Chase fixed it, but I also think they are sucks sometimes.
What's really shitty (in a first world problems way) is that I'm without a card over the weekend. And my "backup" cc got cancelled a few years ago from lack of use. So I'm kicking it like an old Asian man now with a roll of 20s to peel off everywhere.
My card was compromised too, about a year or two ago. I remember I got a call from visa, asking if I just bought Toronto Raptors tickets and some pizzas in toronto. I was like "uh, Toronto is at least 2000 miles from where I'm sitting right now. I think the pizzas might be a little cold by the time they get here. No, it wasn't me"
it's crazy how rampant these people are. Scum of the earth, I tell ya. Makes a guy almost just want to be an old Asian man and carry wads of 20s around. No paper trail either

I can understand where Chase is coming from though- that's a lot of cash they were ultimately ripped off. Are the banks/CCs just insured against fraud like this? I can't imagine they just chalk it up as a loss and move on.
