Well didn't get what I wanted done today, had a lot going on other than the car but got all the interior back in to and the rear coilovers on but was having a fitment issue on the driver side but only by millimeters lol so I will prolly have to get a rear camber kit and possibly a front but don't know just yet. But here are a few shots before I closed for the night lol
I have had a soft spot for these tl's since I was like 10, my aunt owned an 03 black on beige TL and we used to go everywhere in it. I look back at some interior pics on google and think to myself, damn it really did have a very nice interior and very nice exterior lines as well!
I appreciate seeing an aggressive setup on the 2G, because I wasn't sure how something that size would look.
I would probably run a 225 tire, but I plan to roll/pull the fenders and do the rear tab relocation.
The ride height was the same as I was planning to do, so you have pretty much nailed the look I am aiming for.
Were you able to find a full lip kit for it yet?
no havent found a lip kit yet but prolly wont either lol its going to be so low it might scrap the kit lol and id hate to spend the money only to destroy them lol
we had originally planned to go with a +30 but the +22 got ordered instead and well here we are, now comes the challenge to make them fit the way i want. the one ive done is perfectly how i want them all to sit so ill work on the fronts tonight and see what i come up with haha
i think the 38720 one is for the adjustment of the toe and not really the camber, camber on the 2gen tl should be on the top not the lower section. but i will prolly still get those soon to fix my toe issue as well.
Got everything set up and aligned today and drove it for the first time in 6+ months. It's an awesome feeling for sure guys! Still have some more work to do to get the hood and front lip done but it's mostly done!

And just for anybody wondering about the camber kits I used, here is a little info on them.
the fronts are 39207 and 39208 and the rears are 67090 two of those. Front are ingalls and rears are spc
the rears have great negative and positive camber points but the fronts are not so great. They give me a little bit of camber but not enough for my height. One of my front knuckles is slightly bent giving it an extra -1.5 degrees of camber and it doesn't rub much if any. But the other side rubs a little bit. It bugs me but I'll just have to roll and pull the fronts a little to get that to go away.
The 03 A Spec has colour matched handles, and I plan to have the chrome trim painted black, so, black rims will hopefully flow well with the overall look
Connected with someone in BC that had a front/rear lip that he wasn't using.
Sometimes you can find a part out on kijiji as well.
I have seen a few 2G's A-Spec's being parted out on there, so you still may be able to find one.
I will likely have the same issues as the OP(as far as ride height), so, having a replacement was a good investment.
I've come close to having some luck on Kijiji. I had a guy last week willing to sell me one, but he wouldn't ship it to the U.S. That's happened a few times now over the past few months, unfortunately.
in my 02 tl type s, motor dropped several valves last year. so i went with the j35 from a 00 ody and the only things i had to change to be able to use the same harness and ecu, trans etc and keep close to the same tl-s power was parts in the head. the type s does have bigger intake runner and slightly bigger valves as well but inside the head you have to use the type s cams and cam assemblies for both heads along with the type s injector as well being that they are 270cc and the j35 are 220cc i believe. pretty much taking everything out of the type s heads that can be unbolted and swap it all into the j35 heads. i also used the type s intake runners and manifold. the type s runner are larger diameter than the j35 intake ports so in order for better flow you will need to mark and port match for best performance. the j35 has lots more tq and is a blast to drive. and doing the setup this way there is not cut out under high load on the motor at higher revs. car runs extremely smooth.
