Rear muffler delete, straight piped, mid muffler replaced with cherry bomb glasspack. Have two brand new magnaflow mufflers I'm debating putting on. 18" VSR Performance wheels, dipped red.

Meet Eugene

Yeah, that's something I'm keeping in the back of my head. Here's a rear end shot; I just like how it gives a little something if you're looking solely at the rear end. I agree that in the angle of the first picture, it can viewed as a bit too much. Still playing around with the whole thing. By the way, can you move this thread to the appropriate section, please. Needs to be in the TL forum.

Welcome to AcuraZine. Did you do the red mods or did you buy it like that? We had a member maybe by the name of Sezniko or something like that - very similar taste.

Did it myself. Original wheels were black when I did those red. The new wheels are actually a brighter red than it appears in the first pic above. My android phone's camera sucks. Forgot to mention I through a K&N filter in the stock air box too (1-2 hp lol).

Not sure if GGESQ moved the thread for you but it seems to be in the right spot!
Also, all that matters is if you enjoy your mods! people will have opinions either way, but at least you're out there exploring and trying new things!

heh, idk. It does look better in person because the red is much brighter than in the photo (camera sucks). Maybe it's an age thing? I'm pretty young, and all my friends like it. Actually were my friend's wheels, lol. I like them.

edit: How do I know change my age on here?

By the way, how do I go about removing plast-dip easily whenever I chose to do so in the future. The friend I got them from said pressure washing, but I'm kind of worried it would damage the original paint on them. Would it just be easier doing another coat? He dipped these about a year ago and did a good bit of coats, but there are so many nooks and crannies.

in my opinion it all looks pretty bad. but that being said, it's your car and if you like it, then stay with it!! it doesn't matter what we think (or what your friends think!)

for plasti dip you just peel it. it will clump together and come off pretty easily together

I hope it's that easy! Yeah, I'm kind of so-so on the wheels! Don't know if I want to keep them red or put them back to black (bought them red, but are originally black). I don't care what strangers think; and my friends are the ones that pushed me to get the wheels, lol. I need tint.

Might just be a southern taste, lol. You see a bunch of Hondas, etc. with crazy colored wheels down here in Louisiana. I saw a light blue 13-15 Scion TC with yellow rims on my way to work (did not like it though). I can't slam it because the roads suck down here and we flood a lot.

These are just our opinions, and yes if you like just leave it! You are the one driving it and it is your style.

If you choose to pressure wash it, don't worry about the original finish. It should hold up to the pressure.

yea if i were you i'd get tint asap...that would help your look big time and also make it cooler for the southern summers! a pretty popular tint level right now is 20% all around (not including windshield)

I dunno' but I'm one of the younger members here and wouldn't consider myself a fan of it. Unique? Yes, just a bit too much.

At the end of the day it's your car so whatever makes you happy you do it. My car is kinda ricey but it makes me very happy.

That second line is pretty offensive man, I consider myself a "grown up". I have a 2 year old, an office job, am only 22 and already quickly approaching 100k. I don't care if you dislike the look, but don't get personal about it. & I'm just experimenting, relax. I bought the wheels like this.

Like you said, it's your opinion. I haven't received one negative remark in person, only positive and have specifically asked people if they think it's too much (people that I know would be honest). These people range in age and race (white, black, Asians). A bunch of them say the wheels are a nice contrast to the dark blue and look good accompanied with the red garnishes, red marker lights and bright red tail lights. That's why all the negative comments are catching me off guard and leaves me wondering if it's just the picture, because there is a quite a big difference in the picture and in person. For some reason I can't get the picture to retain it's brightness and sharpness like the second pic I uploaded.

Anywho, the only con to the red is that it really stands out in the office parking lot, lol. Thinking of getting the windows tinted this weekend, taking a good long look at it and debating red or black. I think deep down I want black, but fear the daunting task of taking the red dip off.

Yeah. A lot of folks won't say anything negative to your face. Even if they're your friend and you specifically ask them to be honest. Especially if they're your friend. It's easier to tell a little white lie, or stretch the truth, and save face.

I'm not your friend. I'll be honest: IMO, it's too much. While red and blue are complimentary colors, it doesn't mean they go well together. I think all your red accents would look better in a neutral color.

But the good thing is that it's probably cheap enough to change up until you find something your really, really like. That's part of the fun.

And if you really, really like it as it is now. Well, more power to you. Don't worry about what others think. My opinion, like anyone else's, matters not to your well being.

Had the phrase "grow up" not been used on a subjective matter, I may not have taken offense to it. But - we're on the internet, perspective is limited. No worries!

My friends and I are brutally honest to each other, by the way. I just talked one of them into taking his undercarriage lights off of his '12 WRX STI (fast or not, you don't need those lights). I hang out with a lot of Asians, they love bright colors.

I do truly value the negative feedback, it has helped a bit in me reaching a decision. I wanted opinions from other TL owners. Friends have been talking me into doing them white, but I think I'll settle with black (if I can get the rivets to come back out silver without any problems).

lol, yeah, I've heard it quite a few times actually. & no, they're in awesome condition. Honestly, these are probably the best tires this car will ever see. Don't think I'll be paying $850 for the same tires once they do go.

Honestly, for making almost 100k, don't you think you would be able to afford a set of wheels that you don't have to plasti dip? Also, put some type of exhaust tips on there. Those straight pipes look god awful sticking out.

Also, being young your taste in vehicle mods will change overtime. At least mine did.

Kudos for being different!

not not feeling the red touches, and the tires are also too thick for those wheels. the stock tires on the stock 17's look more low profile than those. a drop an low pro tires would help a lot, but id really suggest to lose the red also

Can you turn your front wheels all the way to each side without rubbing?

@BreezyTL, I said QUICKLY APPROACHING 100k, not I MAKE 100k. & the reason I say that is because I started my current job at about 40k and increased that to 70k in a year. That's quickly approaching 100k if you ask me.
Also, like I've stated already, I bought the wheels dipped (liking the red and knowing I could go back to black if I wanted). READ MOFO, lol.

Yeah, I could've went and bought brand new wheels, but I'm not doing that on an old, used car like this, which I only bought because my insurance on a brand new car ('17 Civic) would have been, I kid you not, $1050 a month, because of my driving record and age.

About my "taste in mods changing over time"...no doubt, it's human nature. If I was a bit older, there's no way I'd rock the red rims, lol.

@JDM96specCTR, the tires being too big for the wheels is your opinion. They were put on to avoid bending/cracking the wheels due to the horrible roads here in LA (pot holes, etc). When I was a CNC Lathe Machinest at a rim shop down here, one of our main services was repairing cracked/bent rims (that's how bad it is).

@Bimmitup, absolutely! No rubbing at all!

By the way, I'm getting rid of the red exhaust garnishes and painting them black to go with my window tint and black lip moulding I'm putting on the deck lid. & on a side note, looking into supercharging. :P Kind of hard for me to justify supercharging this car though.

EDIT: Also, BreezyTL, I like the look of the straight pipes. Sue me.

Originally, I was going to tell you "Don't bother Supercharging" but, my words of wisdom, do your homework 1st. Still a lot of $$ to go boosted and do it right on these car. Supporting mods are a must. Truthfully speaking, you will still get walked on by current vehicles which are F/I from factory.
