Well got the motor to start and took it for its first drive in 6 months or so, felt great to be driving it again. Now to finish up the paint brakes and suspension this week and hopefully get the wheels in sometime this week.

Haven been able to really get on it yet, but it seemed decent last night but I also haven't driven the thing in 6months or so it's kinda hard to say lol but I'll keep you guys posted for sure

Well didn't get it finished but I did get the first coat of base down. So close to the end of this painting lol it wore me out this weekend all my fingers hurt but it will be well worth it in the end . But it is also kinda hard to see the color in the pics so I'll try to take better pics if I get a chance lol

Appreciate the attention to detail with the paint, looks like it's going to turn out really well.
Couple of questions:
1. Did you remember to open the gas lid and paint in there?
2. Why put the engine in and not paint the whole engine bay as well?

I don't plan to really show off the engine bay, and that would have added weeks onto this project and I don't really want to spend the time to paint the bay right now. if I ever decide to I can always take the front end off and tape up the car for that.
I just finished redoing the bay on the hatch full shave and tuck etc and that took me about 3-4 weeks total work time. and It was not fun lol we do plan to possibly build the old motor and if we do I might paint the bay at that time but for now this will suffice

and ita it's a new color I haven't seen on a tl yet as well

the white pearl that is on this car from the factory is like $700 a gallon for just the base coat paint not including the clear and the rest of materials to prep, sand, paint the car. Which would be roughly another $300 or so make the total job just over a grand before all the countless hours lol. This paint is from the new Toyota tundras and tacomas and paint, clear, and all materials needed was around $550 lol

Car is finally cleared, has a few imperfection but can/will be taken care of when I cut and buff the car. Now only the hood and bumper need paint and she is ready for reassembly Monday. Got the rest of the tires mounted today but the guy put one on backwards so I gotta get him to redo that one tomoro, but alas here are some pics lol
