So, just FYI, if anyone was wondering... Frontier Communications, the ISP, can bite a big fat stinky one.
Some months back, Verizon ISP sold off their backbone in my area to this Bag of Feces known as Frontier. Now, as far as I can tell, all that really happened is the nameplate on the building and who cashes my (metaphorical) checks was changed. The same infrastructure is still there etc.
But for some reason, whereas Verizon had a nearly 100% up time, except for very major weather related disruptions (and even then I think it was probably more with not having power to drive the router vs. the internet not actually getting to my house), Bag of Feces can't seem to keep a stable signal going to my house for a whole week.
I've been down for going on 18 hours now; as have my neighbors, and from what I can tell by looking online (on my phone, natch), most if not all of the Houston metro-sprawl is fucked too.
So good going Frontier Communications! Giant pieces of shit.
Oh, and the real kicker? The ONLY other option I have is Comcast Xfinity. Which IMO, is worse than being sodomized by a red hot telephone pole.
I have essays to grade and so I need to go into the office on the weekend, whereas I should be on the couch with a Lite Beer being productive. Now I'm sitting in the dark, AC-off, weekend mode office drinking 2 day old coffee I left in the pot on Friday.

I had COX in Phoenix, and I loved it!
I was sad when we moved to Houston and I couldn't get COX anymore. Literally the only service in my area isVerizon Fron-cuck-tier or Xfin-we-are-satan-ity. Or like some sort of oddball satellite service like I'm living on a Kansas farm in 1992 and have beaucoup bucks to burn.
I have no idea. I really think it is a matter of rock or hard place. FCC don't care. Fron-cockgobbler-tier can just claim "acts of god" for it being down and "they're working to repair" and I bet that's the end of it.
Meh, I mean, I guess I might just need to figure out how to tether to my phone and then just rock everything on 4G.

i thought i remembered someone bitching about Frontier, but then i just remember feeling bad for you because you loved cox in AZ and couldn't find cox in Houston. And i was not surprised cuz the Mayor in Houston does not like cox.

I have no desire going to the doc to get antibiotics that may or may not even work. Antibiotics are bad, mmmkay.
I just tough it out at home, pop ibuprofen as needed and that's about it.

its just a matter of time before the next bug mutates into a completely drug resistant superbug. It happens once in awhile already... Humans are on the losing end though. We are running out of ways to fight these. It's just a matter of time before a global epidemic shows up. Scary shit.

brah.. it's too late for that. There's already a superbug that the most potent anitbac can't fix.. and that drug is only used when about to die, all else failed. Luckily most who got it survived.
