a pretty penny even though they are a "good deal" and in addition "I fucking hate them" (her).
in the end, she's right...oem wheels done in silverstone with some new rubber all around will be fucking amazing.
Damnit I really wanted to see those awesome copper wheels on your car. Damn Costco causing problems again.

Honestly, with the way the rear sits right now with the camber adjusted, it sits as high as I'd want with the front lowered.
But we'll see...I might end up getting the 6MM spacers to replace...it depends because after powdercoat I'll be on the Conti which may not have has wide a sidewall.

Mark my words. You'll definitely be getting a set of aftermarket wheels even after powder coating the stockies.

Oh, I don't doubt that...and Betty says she's fine with that...but she doesn't want me to select a set under duress because of my leaking front tire. She's like, yes...it's an inconvenience for me to pick up the baby for 3 days...but to spare me that to the tune of nearly $3000 is fucking asanine. She's right...$500 spent now and I'm back in business with time to think about my next move.

But why fix wheels that are going to end on the shelves anyway?

I'm fixing the oem wheels because I love them. They are forged, they are lightweight. Aside from the curbing and sanding and smoothing I did, which removed the oem clear coat, in sunlight, they have a dingy look to them from the years of heat and brake dust baking. So, on my rather pricey vehicle, I think it deserves better. Again, if I didn't have the cracked and leaking wheel, I'd leave well enough alone. But I do...happened to get a killer deal on silver wheel...so mismatch = powdercoat. I could have grabbed up a polished one that popped up for another $250 and sold the silver one but then I'd be left with an extra mission and I'd still have a mediocre set of oem wheels. This way, I have very nice oem wheels...which I may or may not just be happy with indefinitely. They really fit the car so well...no joke, like 8 times out of 10 when I see aftermarket rims on the V, I think they look less awesome than the oem wheels. Usually oem wheels that are PC'd I have to do a double take to realize they aren't even aftermarket.

Anyway...another option...took forever to find the color again after closing the tab last week. STEALTH CHARCOAL...just worried it's TOO dark.

Fair enough. I had the same train of thought with my s2k wheels and even got new rear tires. With that said, they have been on the rack ever since I got the Volks.

there's one huge caveat to that, Dennis...
your volks were lightweight, legit, forged wheels you knew were equal to or better than your oem.
For me, I'd be downgrading for donk quality wheels on my budget or waiting for a good deal to come up on something quality and hopefully even lighter than Oem.

My front 19x9 wheels is forged and weighs only 24.5 lbs...not damn bad!

I like the color choice, they will look great! Any thoughts on going with a satin finish? I always feel like a flat finish adds more depth to the wheel and shows off more detail. The satin will add just a touch of shine without being glossy.

^^^this guy with no chill!

Adam, I did, but I do love a glossy finish, just so rewarding when waxing and removing brake dust which is a constant battle.
I believe I'm sticking with the lighter colored silverstone...I know that in photos it can be super deceiving and the pics mostly show it with light being shone on the faces and then IRL the wheels look dark AF which I don't want.

I agree with your choice to stick with the original. The one you posted up above is more anthracite and might be a little too dark on black. The Silverstone looks really close to my wheels and I have the best wheels so I know best. Wheels. Are best.

Thank you, suhhhh...
Funny, I went back and forth with the powder buddy and we agreed silverstone was winner...darker side of silver but not quite gunmetal works perfectly. Key was i wanted high contrast but I wanted the shadows to be obvious...like Volk formula silver paint.
So we stuck with it...
Dropped them off, should be done by Monday or Tuesday...cool Jamaican dude with a daughter named Zoe too...last set I dropped off were the S2000 wheels right before Z was born...crazy how fast this year went but also how much has happened.

Anyway will be slummin it in my S2000 for a week...could be worse...especially since it's supposed to be in the 60's...

Oh also, realized I'd be a fool to take a loss of time left on the Michelin, they still have plenty of beef on them for some meat curtain sammiches...so they are going back on.
The guy's guy only charges $80 for removing, letting him PC then remount and balance. Fuck yes...and I didn't have to run around to different shops.

Even if I get 6 more months from the rear it would be foolish to just preemptively throw the the Continentals

will do!

Okay well as luck would have it...AFTER my car is on jack stands...we find out that silverstone is on backorder for a month which I can't do.
In a frantic search for another...B and I came up with this...which turns out seems to match MUCH better to Volk Formula Silver paint anyway.
Lucky lucky SOB sometimes...I already called Prismatic to be sure they have it in stock.

J.
Called BURTON SILVER
