All Seats have been replaced then airbag issue

I was so happy that I found a wrecked car and bought all the seats. Anyway I installed all the seats and when I started the car, I had airbag issue! Lesson learned. Upon reading some in google before swapping the seats, the battery should be disconnected and the weight sensor should be put back to the new seats. Well too late now, i put it back the old weight sensor and the opds on the passenger side then i still have the airbag issue, even resetting it won't help. Upon reading more i needed to bring it to the dealer to have it initialized the weight sensor. Anyway below is the before and after pics.

I learned my lesson the hard way as well. Hope you didn't pay too much for the seats. Airbag systems are complex and expensive, hopefully you can figure it out, but I'd suggest just putting your old seats back in and finding a quality upholster shop. Don't bother swapping the leather either. I made this same mistake, since the donor car was wrecked it must have stored some sort of air bag code or something in the seats. I paid a shop to swap the leather on the driver seat, it ended up being so brittle that it ripped 2-3 days later. I got the passanger side reupholstered and realized it would have just been cheaper to do that to begin with and you get new leather. The shop only replaced the perforated leather inserts of the bottom of the seat and it looks great. Expensive lesson learned.

This is great info. I've been looking for front seats for awhile & now I won't bother.

Guess I'll find a local shop & see what the damage would be. Can't stand ripped seats..

Sucks, but it makes sense. Like teh CL said, thanks for sharing before more people try this route.

1.) I have a 2007 RL, the leather door arm rests, center arm rest and the glove box all bubbled up and started ripping all by themselves. Even thought the car is a 2007, Acura paid half of the repair/replacement of everything.
2.) The chrome trim on the bumpers have all peeled off and the grill as well. I recommend have them removed and painted the same color as the car. Less expensive than replacing all of them just to watch the new ones peel as well.
