lmao...we are such fucking dorks...
that's the same thing i thought, HOLY SHIT>>>>A COMPOUND SAW!
I got the fixed handle one...shoulda gotten the slider, it was a lot of extra work for an extra cut on anything 6" wide.

yeah, definitely will get a sliding one when the time comes, no reason not to for future-proofing's sake, just a few more doll hairs from the get-go. Although I've been really eyeing the Dewalt one. How do ya like your Makita doe tacobella?
I'm a brand name whore... Whatever brand I go with, I like to stick with it for as much stuff as possible. My brother is a dewalt guy, so I figured I'd try Makita. It's been great. Tools are pricey, but I feel they're worth it. I also like that Makita has a service center here in town in case something does fail.
Beyond that, when I was doing comparos, dewalt, Makita, Milwaukee all seem more or less the same. One brand excels here, the other brand excels there... I don't think you can go wrong with any of them.

at the higher trim levels, I think it boils down to what color you want in your garage...that makita teal goes well with your eyes...then you get all OCD liek fuck that I ain't going lime green hitachi or yellow dewalt and have it NOT match.
We're all interior decorators deep down.

but you can get it without the laser. The "L" at the end of the model number just means it has the laser feature. It's useless if you know how to line up a saw blade. I have a stand for my saw too. You can get one as a set (they add an "X" into the model name), but I bought a separate Makita stand... The one that comes in the package is pretty basic... I was able to get a one from the Makita service center that is much nicer than the packaged one... But it's heavy as fuck.

STFU Jefe, you're fired.
Adam, no doubt man...my laser stopped working on mine...I usually mark it...then come down and touch the blade on the trash side of the cut and adjust to get it right at the line
I was very annoyed at having to go dewalt on my big boy gun...but the makita wasn't in stock anywhere and didn't include batteries at the same or higher pricepoint.
Johnny...great minds blow alike!

Forget a job, get yourself a fkng toolbox before that hot gf of yours realizes you have a vagina too. (assuming she's not the one with the dick and a toolbox here, benefit of the doubt since we're bros).
plus, cheaper replacement blades for the 10... And it seems 10 blades are more readily available than 12. Lowes has like a dozen different 10 blades... Only 2-3 of the 12s.
