Finished our first steering wheel job!
Still need to make it perfect. But it will only get better as I do a lot more.
I've prepped hard to start on this. Tested different types of Alcantara. Ordered all kinds of Serafil thread from Germany which is used by all the high end automotive manufacturers. All parts are pretty much customizable.
Fun stuff. Will be super busy with this from probably like late november since I'm taking it slow for the baby for awhile.

I will vouche for Jin again and again. Great service, great product, and the photoshoots (even in mid-day) come out great.
Makes me want to get my S2k's steering wheel redone ...

Holy carp that looks awesome!
This reminds me that my S will be sitting idle with no need for a steering wheel for about 6 months here very soon...
Can you come up to MN and do a photo shoot in the spring?

Thanks! I loved it too even though it's not my car. hahaha
I have another FoST coming in right now to dropoff the same Center Stack to Shifter section and all four door panel center section.
He wants Black Alcantara 9040 for the center panels, Lemon Yellow 2951 for the door panels. That should look freaking sweet. The door panel for the Focus looks a bit boring with everything black. This should pop it off a little.
This guy will get the steering wheel done in a month too. Left/Right/Top would be Black Alcantara, the center marker on the top will be Lemon Yellow. The Bottom where ST logo panel is will be Lemon Yellow and the stitching inside will be yellow.

Hope you are doing well brother!
The stitching part isn't very difficult since I bought that expensive industrial sewing machine. But it's that developing the proper pattern for it to wrap around perfectly part, that's super difficult.
But once it's made, I'm going to find a laser cutter guy to cut everything digitally to streamline the process.
This was a good market to get into! Just trying to make different items for people to buy once, since I have a lot of repeat buyers.
I think I can package the steering wheel, shift boot, and ebrake boot and sell it to a lot of customers in the future.
Thankssssss
FoST panels are super easy to take off, I was surprised. Most of the stuff are like under $30 to ship so I have to thank usps for making this very easy haha
Thank you for the words man! Really appreciate it.
the photoshoot was fun because it was such a nice day to drive! Wish we can cruise up together one day!
I bought a cheap used S2K steering wheel for core swap! hahaha makes everything super easy.
Thanks! It looks sweet! If I had a S2K, I would love to do one in like Charcoal or slightly lighter grey for fun.
I've gotten request to fly out and work on some project before. hahahaha I said maybe next year.
It's a grey color FoST! He came by yesterday. We took off everything together. When he checked out the Alcantara colors in person, he changed his mind on Deep Black. Now he wants the Charcoal Grey with Lemon Yellow. So this should be very interesting!!
baby popping any day now!!
hahaha i would love to fly out with everything cut up and stitched up in my bag. hahaha
50 Shades of Shin.

A buddy referred this C6 Z06 friend to me. He wants to start the interior project. We started with these three items. Chevy really didn't spend any money on interior on these cars.. seriously crappy stock interior. Everything's either hard black plastic or vinyl covered panels.

Back when I didn't start this service, I didn't understand why all these Cusco and other good brands were selling the Alcantara steering wheels for +$700 per pop, but it's not too crazy now that I know the process that goes with it.
I want to start with the OEM spec wrap service first since there's so many people who want it done to the OEM spec.
It's very different from some of the cheaper alternatives like precut overlays that you can DIY at home. We take off the stock fabric and put a fresh one since most of the steering wheels have small grooves under where the seams are. It helps to hide the thick seam underneath the fabric. And we decided to use only Amann Serafil thread that are used by high end automotive brands.

That's my next homework! I know how to do it, but it requires a lot of fabrication on my end. Going to outsource to my buddies who are expert on stuff like that. But these add a lot of premium to the service fee.

lol. He build engines, does body work and paint, headlights, exhausts, builds his own baffled mufflers, and could beat Chuck Norris in a fight. But can't wrap a steering wheel
On another note that Tobago blue looks amazing.

Thank you sir!
It's just too pricey to do right now. I want to do a lot of OEM spec steering wheels first to up the reputation first. Don't think random people will want to spend $600-700 on crazy looking flat bottom steering wheel on someone who doesn't seem to have much experience with it!
Hell, I want one on my car.
Thank you! That blue is super different. Love it.
I'm pretty sure you can find an extra steering wheel core for cheap! I've been buying 86 and S2K ones to do a core swap easy, some are like $60 hahaha

Yeah most of the steering wheels get peeled off like crazy. Some car makers use some cheap ass vinyl covers. There's like millions of leather types and some go with the cheap ones. Oh well.

Bro, fuck all these cars.
How is the baby. How is momma?
Tell me she isn't on a whole new level now?
I'm telling you...it's all good now...it's a screaming shitting machine that has been sent back from the future to ruin your life a la T1000.
But in 3 months...we'll talk again...that kid will be all you give a fk about...right after cars.
Excited for you.
