After 5 years of work, I have my dream car....

Purchased & signed the deal on her today. They'll be delivering her Thursday night. She's pretty well loaded, '08 with a 36k on the odo, has a couple flaws, but I couldn't pass her up; had everything I originally wanted in a Z.

Surreal feeling, and I don't even have her yet.

AFAIK, yes. I've got a 2 year GM warranty that covers it, but my first major "mod" will be getting new heads in her. After that, won't worry too much about voiding the warranty.

Nice as long as you have warranty I wouldn't sweat it but the day it ends its time for heads as 'preventative maintenance' and some fun The stock valve guides in the LS7 are the only worry points I'm aware of about that motor. Two of my buddies have dropped valves from the poor valve guide machining and destroyed the long block over them.

I was very close to going for a GS 6MT due to the valve issue on the LS7, but decided to accept that risk and keep after what I wanted. The GS would still be the best of both worlds.

That's all I'm aware of as well, other than the LS7 block not quite as responsive to mods as the LS2/3 block, but that's such an afterthought for me.

I'll shoot for Saturday afternoon or Sunday to post some nice pics. It rained this morning and the weather's been a little chilly today, so a bit hesitant to try anything today.

Pics from when she was delivered, and one where my cars finally met lol. Apologize for the awful phone pics, though.

I am starting to wonder though, if the previous owner did address the head issue or did anything else. I've found that the back of my little cubby holder just under the temp. controls had been cut out, exposing some wiring. Not sure what the previous owner had there unless it was a radar.

I don't think so, because even if the previous owner installed the Mild to Wild switch it's usually remote controlled by a key FOB looking controller. I had one on my 2011 GS, But I guess anything is possible.

i only suggested it because z06 boy hides his mild to wild remote in that cubby so he doesn't have to carry it around on his keys... but since it is wireless, it wouldn't explain the wires... maybe a wideband?
