What the hell is that.. don't tell me there's feeders and stands too??
You should try heading to Montana or Colorado.. hunting in the Rockies is fantastic
Best to look for hunting excursions where they take care of the meat unless it's the dead of winter

I have never been keen to hunting, my pops would drag me along every year though..
I just liked shooting his 7mm rem mag at objects a mountain away..
Only hunting I do now is driving the back roads..

Poor fucking deer. At least there is a ton of them in the wild.

Always makes me sad to see one mowed down on the side of the highway. Poor things don't deserve to die that way. At least if it's hunting, the meat goes to good use, so there's nothing wrong with that. And the meat is pretty tasty (I like game meat)

A close friend of mine does a lot of driving around the province for his job. He was towing a 20 foot trailer behind his truck one evening down the highway, when a deer ran out. It waited for the truck to pass but then ran in between the truck and trailer.... The trailer de-fucking-stroyed that animal. He was pulling big chunks of flesh and antlers from various parts of the trailer. He said it looked like it exploded. Ended up taking the trailer to the car wash to wash all the blood and smaller chunks of animal off... Poor fucking thing. At least it was a quick death. The car wash owner must've been pissed

No feeders, no bait piles, no stands... I find a tree to free climb and sit on limbs, otherwise I slow stalk. Can't stand sitting for hours on hours!

I would love to go hunt the mountains. Elk and Moose are on my list for ventures, and they sure do taste good!

I like your style, Breezy. At least bringing sport back into it and actually hunting, instead of baiting an animal into its inevitable death.

sigh.

On most forums, this would lead to the Space Jam girl bunny derail. But not here... Here it'll just lead to salad tossing.

My man! Sucks you need to be out there with a bunch of yoo-hoos though.
Never been hunting for Moose, but we did take one out coming out of Yellowstone right after we crossed the Idaho border.
It was around 1AM, fucker was right in the middle of the road.. couldn't do shit.. hit the rear legs then tried to keep the drunkards from hitting it.
Sheriff finally came out 30 mins later, put it out of it's misery and probably cooked burgers for the whole town the next day.
They're massive.. 7ft tall on all 4s.

Elk is great.. great meat and fun to hunt. We slow chased one down a logging road one time, funniest thing..
his antlers were so big he didn't want to crash through the thick so he bumbled down the road as we followed in my pop's 87 Tacoma 4x4.

We also came upon a hundred of them down by Pt Reyes seashore during mating season..
That was an amazing experience too..

I am not a fan of gun hunting with 3-4 round clips. I used my .50 cal muzzleloader. 1 shot is all you get! Reason I like bow hunting more is you have to have them within 30 yds to have a comfortable shot. Trying to be quiet is half the battle!

Need to make sure it counts though, I definitely respect your game!
Sometimes the shot isn't 100% clean.. I'm all for putting it down as fast as you can.. I feel uneasy not having at least one more round ready to go just in case.
We've chased deer over a mile.. poor guy.. plus we had to ruck that sucker on our back all the way. I'm not a fan of bow hunting for this reason.
Although it doesn't get much better than stalking with a bow.. we've seen some animals walking around with arrows in them. Even a turkey.
An arrow can inflict way more damage when shot properly, but their seems to be many unqualified hunters doing so.. at least from what I've seen.

Practice, Practice, Practice... Shot placement is key and that is why I don't shoot outside of 30 yds. I hold myself to high standards so I don't injure anything. They don't deserve to suffer, try to limit that as much as I can.

Too many people think it is easy and that is when you see arrows hanging out of things. Those people need to watch hunting videos instead of doing it!
