rockstar143's 2013 CTS-V SUV Wagon Thread - GM Owner & Cut Springs
I don't know/care what you own....I was just asking about a Caddy V Coupe hood. Only because J has purchased a Caddy I actually have an interest in, I am interested in learning more about them. Don't necessarily have alot of time to research every detail about every car on this Forum, or who owns what, so, thought I would ask, and even preface my question with my lack of knowledge on the subject, hence, "perhaps a foolish question....".
If that hood that I posted was an aftermarket hood, cool......pretty sure being on a car forum means learning from the knowledgeable members about various cars on the forum.

I'm pretty sure most people would guess that hood is HELLA aftermarket. For you edumacation, many make vented hoods for the V. Most popular is D3, but there are several others, even carbon fiber hoods which is fucking asinine because the V hood is like 5 lbs.
Is the coupe hood the same as the wagon?
I don't like your attitude and besides I meant this other thing that I didn't really say the first time. Oh, and here's some attitude back. I only want to hear from people that know.
I don't care what you know, I just want to learn stuff.
I'll now claim I already knew all that stuff even though I asked about it because I said I didn't know about that stuff.
...
Yes.

That is not stock. I know.

Okay. Well, here's more stuff.
...
lol......all I asked was about a hood that I didn't know wasn't an OEM hood.......if we really want to summarize. I'm at work, hence why I am not on here much to participate.....sorry, should have included a full itinerary of my day, I guess?
Didn't post with attitude, got responded to with attitude, responded to the attitude.
Simple response would have been, it's an aftermarket hood. could have moved on from all this a LONG time ago....however....keep dragging it out if you need to.
Jeremy......sorry, Bro...not trying to jack up your thread like.......oh yeah......the same person who jacked up your thread before........coincidence??

I enjoy the fun banter!
Any other questions, feel free bro...I'll answer what I know, I'm still learning myself. Be glad to share the dos and don'ts of searching for one from someone that has recently experienced it, if you're serious!
I have to agree though, that hood was pretty insane and not oem...I KINDA like this one hood that's bumped up another inch from factory (assuming for clearance for a bigger SC or something) but it just looks like a meaner oem one.
HERE is the answer to my question.
I remembered it being a Coupe(I didn't check this post again before I asked my question)......now I know.
I assumed the sedan/coupe/wagon hoods are all the same size/fitment....I guess it does work.
Thanks, Majofo.

I don't mean to be a dick, but it's hard to take a guy seriously who's posted 400 times in 10 years.
derek may have been on here before majofo, but shit, if you don't know who majofo is and you think he's a new member, shiiiiet...

Best to move on, now.
Actually, cutting the hood doesn't seem like a bad idea. Keep that engine cooler, keep that supacharja cooler, and plus, show off that corvette engine
...until J comes back to his car one day and realizes the engine is missing

Its the same thing with the 370z. The OEM hood is aluminum and light as fuck. Fools be spending a shit ton of money for carbon fiber, which weighs the same, or more. Unless dry carbon. But the you're paying 1500 to save 4 pounds. Asinine is right.
On the ZR1 (same platform), the hood is clear so you can see the engine.
Except there's nothing to fucking see since the lid of the charger is plain AF
A lot of V guys buy the ZL1 charger (also same platform) lid because it has a slightly larger cooler..
but for the most part it's eye candy. It's funny because the lid to the V is more expensive.

yeah but you know we have a member that shaved tires to get the rotation radial pythagorean theorem weighted average of thermal dynamics for mass weight down...
i mean, naw mean?
I was over on bforbrianne6speed's thread and OMG the effort and attention he's putting into putting perfect holes in all his structural elements to save grams is insane. I can appreciate the dedication but it's still coocoo to me.
and Tim is the man...I still think he's nuts.
