The 3G Ramblings & General Discussion Thread (V)
the problem is... We LOVE our current house. We planned to only stay in it for 2 years... Now we don't want to leave. the other thing is, I'm looking forward to being project-free for a bit. The last two or three years have just been go-go-go. I need a break. Landscaping at two houses, basement suites, renos, you name it.
I think we want to enjoy living for a year or two and then we will move. Granted, Calgary prices are good right now, but, if oil continues to be where it is, I'm hoping they drop a bit more over the year. We will see though. Even if they do rebound, it's not the end of the world.

I still think about opening a business and/or getting into development, and/or real estate, but, it's a life balance thing. The old me would've never considered buying something like the JizzMo. The new me realizes that I might not even make it to 50, so might as well enjoy some stuff now.
I dunno what cards life will throw me. The JizzMo wasn't exactly the brightest purchase- I was initially planning to buy in a year or two. But here I am, not regretting a thing. I feel like I'm sounding like a pompous asshole- I apologize if I do. I've said it before and I'll say it again- we aren't rich, but, living within our means.

i travel about 15-20 mins into the beltway.
Fulshers not thaat far, i exaggerated with the 2 hours...it would probably add another 20 mins to my commute.

I was just busting your chops, Adam...
I totally get what you mean because you're talking to a guy that used to get mad at himself for wasting $15 on a CD for himself if he didn't like 3 songs on it. LIKE NOOOO you could have saved that money! then I got burned by a lady for a good sum of cash and realized that no matter what you do with your money, it comes and goes and if you don't allocate some of that to making your peanuts hard every once in a while...you'll go through life only having paid all your bills on time and being super reliable and not having enjoyed any of it at the same time.

there was a time in my life where I was adamant about getting rich, and nothing else mattered. Pinched pennies like crazy. Well wifey wasn't on the same page and let's just say that me wanting to save and/or make money didn't line up with her wanting to enjoy life a bit. I started to get burnt out from the stress and always being busy. Figured if I'm gonna get wealthy, it'll happen. If not, meh, we have everything we need to be happy, we have good jobs, we got nothing to complain about.

Hey, I admitted I was way off cause I saw the Neuronbob line about making $400K a year in another thread and thought for sure you were lurky but not posty and fkd up. I ate shit and looked like a fool!
I filled my quota of inserting foot in mouth and tongue in cheek aggressively passive responses for the day, that's all!

They are retired now. Doing some snooping a few years ago, I came across a spreadsheet with their money... Where it is, how much is where, you name it. It blew my fucking mind. Penny pinching for 35 years worked well for them. However, now being retired, they don't know how to enjoy themselves. My dad has no hobbies. Everything is too expensive. He doesn't go anywhere, doesn't do anything. My mom is a bit better, but then he always tightens up the rope when it comes to spending. They occasionally travel, but do it cheap-as-fuck again.
At this point, I think he's planning on being buried with his savings. No idea what else he will do with it. I don't want to be like that.
Mrs Pinderdeeps parents are like that too. Rich af and won't even get power windows on their cars. Stashing their acorns for a winter that'll never come.
Hey, I don't mind. Just means our children will always be taken care of...

I'm rich AF. I've actually got two Escalades and a Viper. I don't usually brag about it but I'm really a pretty big deal. $10M (USD) house on top of a skyscraper in downtown and I take my own personal train to work where I teach English to mentally stunted minorities from Uganda city in Germany.
I hang out here because it keeps me grounded with what the poors are doing so I can relate to my little Mongoloid students.

I dunno, I wonder about that. theres always a chance, but, my parents are adamant about treating my brother and I totally equal. No one gets something, unless the other gets the same. These days, my brother and my folks have a strained relationship (due to his wife
). They've mentioned in the past they removed him from the will- no idea if it is true or not, but I dunno why they'd say something like that otherwise.
If anything, I could see the money going to the grandkids. And since wifey and I don't have any kids, I can see my brother's kids getting it all. That way, hey, we are both equal- both didn't get anything. The kids on the other hand will have a good head start.

Yeah, anyone want to buy an exhaust for a wagon? Just need a few more to get the initial build kicked off...
LMK.
You don't even need a TSX, you could make a bong out of it, or play it like a rusty trombone, or make a robot or something.
