It's an '08 Type-S with around 92,000 miles. Just replaced the battery within the last year and a half. Been using the remote start the previous owner put in nearly all the time and 99% of the time it works perfect. But every few months or so I would remote start and the car would try to start, but then abruptly cut off and the car would act as if the battery was disconnected. The connections all seem good and just jiggling the wires at the terminals has pretty much always gotten the car to start fine. But now the issue has happened two days in a row and it took multiple tries to start it today.

looks to be some corrosion on the positive cable (see the white?) clean it, put some protectant spray on it, and try again.

battery is also 2 years old. see the sticker 10/14 (Oct. 2014)

I live in Texas where the hot heat will decimate a battery in 2 years.

there doesnt seem to be a lot if any corrosion.....its most likely the battery not having enough juice to start your car, being that it is 2 years old.

I certainly hope it's not the battery. I specifically got the Everstart Maxx because it was a top rated battery by Consumer Reports. Generally doesn't get too hot here in PA. Why I suspect it's the connections rather than the battery itself is that nearly every time this issue has happened, the battery has either acted as if completely disconnected, or it has strongly and quickly started the car. Today is the first time power has been going to the car without a quick and strong start, but jiggling the connections a few times got it to start. Will see about getting the voltage tested just to be sure.

Battery cables have been known to corrode internally and also be sure to check the opposite ends of the cables.

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I got the battery tested and thankfully that's still good. Managed to get some of the corrosion cleaned off, the connections tightened up, and added some petroleum jelly to the terminal to help prevent further corrosion. Will look into replacing the cables if the problems come back.

You might new battery cables. I did a few months ago when the car wouldn't even turn over or click when turning the key.

You should probably switch the remote start settings to get a injector/tach reading (you need the tach/injector wire from the alarm installed) rather than voltage/current sensing that's using right now. You said it only fails to start when using the remote start but not when turning the key in ignition, right?

If remote start is using current sensing indeed then this is a sign that your battery is getting weak. Have the battery tested.
