Module has been working for some time now but today it for some reason wasnt. The windows are not rolling up after the delayed double press (but I am able to use the kep to put them up). Anyone have any issues with the module just failing and/or know the warranty details for the unit?

Thanks

it honestly should not ever fail. it's a dumb animal unit.

i would go back in and recheck your wiring. a t-tap might have come loose from slamming the door, etc.

Ok. Will have to go in one day soon and check. If thats the case I think soldering would be a better option this 2nd time.

Guys, I got mine and really like it. Swoosh and I installed it about a month ago. It went very quick (on the install) and it's worth the $59.

Just know that now, they make them to order. They don't have them in stock. So they don't ship the next day.

Will work with Viper 5704....however...

I installed this module and I love it! I also purchased a Viper 5704 2 way security and remote start system on Amazon for 190 (lists on Viper website for 600). After installing the alarm I learned you can actually program the alarm to send 2 lock pulses with only hitting the lock button on the LCD remote once. Which will in turn roll the windows up like before. However if you want to lock the doors and leave the windows down...then you will have to physcially push twice like before.

The windows WILL NOT ROLL DOWN anymore with the addition of the alarm without the addition of a 530t window module which can do 2 windows 2 directions or 4 windows 1 direction, which works for this case bc we just want all 4 of them to go down.

Sunroof will also not open anymore without the addition of a 529t which works for one motor one or two ways...

I bought the alarm, remote start, and all modules (also need a transponder bypass) for 300 on amazon and it would have been over 800 on the Viper website....

Hope this helps anyone with questions about aftermarket alarms

read a couple pages in this thread but has ANYONE tapped into the ACC wire instead of IGN that way it actually works as how it should? With only tapping into IGN, if the key is in ACC, the module will think the car is off.

I guess I will sound ignorant, but what purpose would that serve? To be able to roll up while the car is still on?

^^^ Jeremy, as far as I remember couple folks did not connect the yellow wire (I think which tells the car is on or locked...something around those lines)....the purpose that solves is, if you are crusising down the highway and you get a phone call, you can hit the lock button (in the door panel) twice WHILE driving and all the windows will roll up....

sorry for the very vague description but it has been more than 4 years I did this mod...

If you dont mind sharing your knowledge swoosh,

but i didnt connect my yellow wire either cuz i found

the DIY to be confusing (basically had to piece info/common sense

to connect it the way its connected now). So if you can tell

me where you connected your yellow wire id be grateful.

edit: nvm,ima go try whats on the first page.

i actually didnt see this DIY.

its all good...The first post is very very descriptive and well written

since the yellow wire is connected to a switched 12volts(when you turn on the ignition this wire gets 12volts that will keep the module from working when the ignition is on and/or car running, one could simply leave the wire unconnected and use the module even when the car is running

Thanks Anil,i had my buddy TLDude876 try locking his car

with the ignition on/car running & he said it didnt roll the windows

up (i helped him install his roll up module for him but forgot to test mine

before i connected the yellow wire today). So idk what the deal is,

I did connect my yellow wire up and it still works the same way it did before.

I also trimmed the height of the door lock while i was at it

I love the door lock thingie trimmed....I ended up doing this on my car around when I did the mod as well

About the yellow wire...I haven't left it disconnected....I just read on on the forums that someone had left it disconnected and it worked for him....

I have to take my door panel out for something and will try to disconnect the yellow wire and see how it works for me and will let you know bro...

I dont think disconnecting it is gonna do anything,

you dont have to remove the door panel to do the trimmed lock mod

you can unscrew the lock pin, trim it, screw it back on

I do, but I turn it off and just use the phone so I can keep the windows open. In hindsight, I shouldn't have even replaced it.

My KP tech thing has bugged out on me before so I'm too to mess with it now.

just finished installing my module and love it already.... it started raining right when i was done putting the door panel back so my module became useful immediately.....

#FAST4DR's wiring instructions and pics made this easier than washing my car.... 15mins and door panels were already being screwed back on

thumbs up #FAST4DR & also #kpierson for a great piece of equipment...

The yellow wire is a redundant safety inhibit - it is designed to keep the module from outputting a signal to raise the windows while the car is on. However, the OEM Honda BCM won't allow the windows to raise when the ignition is on anyway so in reality the yellow wire is not actually needed for functionality. If you do not hook up the yellow wire you still can NOT raise the windows while the ignition is on - again the OEM BCM will not allow this to happen. Years ago there was some discussion about removing the yellow wire all together but due to safety and liability concerns it was left in.

Just installed mine today, took me about 1 hour 45 minutes. Had to take the dam door apart twice cause Im a dumbass and got the wire clips too large so I had to splice them up a little with a razor blade the second time around. smh. But once it is installed it works great! Thanks again for the guide.

2006 Acura TL window/down module

Has anyone ever used the factory auto window/sunroof open/down module off of another TL (same model) to reverse the application for window up /sunroof close as the addition instead of the aftermarket module??

Sounds like a whole lotta work ... And not necessarily cheaper either. What's the benefit here

Using OEM module to reverse might work if it's separate unit (no idea, but I highly doubt it). Also you would need correct wire (from close door signal) to hold voltage. (to work exactly like open door signal)

Using this module is much easier.

Now when I think about my installation, someday I might try doing my own module with arduino and couple relays. This way I will have 100% control over delays. But what I'm really thinking about is opening all windows with triple click instead of hold. Maybe I will try doing it in future, just need correct wire.

I'm using this option all the time to cool down my car after sitting in sun on parking lot, but holding it sometimes doesn't open my windows all the way (battery is getting low I huess).

Are there way this is still possible? KP tech seems to have gone under and I don’t think the unbranded amazon modules will close the sunroof as well.

I wouldn't say it's "out of the question" .. like for example, i can say with about 99% certainty that I have one within 20 feet from me that I've been toying with installing but has just been sitting in the parts bin so thinking i should sell it instead of having it sit there collecting dust.

That's a shame. I messaged them during COVID times and they said I needed to order 40 modules at once for them to make it again. Best I got was 10 people who would've bought it with me lol

Re-engineer it and see if it's feasible to sell reproductions

I was scrounging through my parts bin again and found this module.. Now that KP has gone under, wonder if it's the right time to reverse engineer this for profit
