Yes, going once again. Just secured my seats in Grandstand 24 (L'Epingle hairpin).
Best way to get seats is to call them directly @
855 418 2713 Even after you press "2" for English, expect to hear a lot of French messages, don't panic, stay on the line. Thanks for getting me on track (no pun) Westy!
But Austin is just a 3 hour drive for me.
With her business taking off like it has, there may be more GPs in my future
USGP, Canada, Mexico likely the easiest 3.
Monaco is a MUST for any F1 fan. I'm really glad we sat in 3 different places on 3 different days, incredible way to get to see the action from different viewpoints. Ditto Montreal-I don't think there's a grandstand/hospitality area there I haven't sat in

When we start getting close to a Monaco GP trip, expect a few PMs Chief.
It's fun over there in its own way as you get to see a lot of off-track stuff (pit work, stops, celebs walking the pit lane, and the grid). There's zero racing action there though unfortunately.

Yeah that's what it looked like...I was on a budget (bought tickets for both me and the gf), soooo I think the other grandstands were out of my price range. I think in 2013 I stood in GA near Turn 6/7. That was pretty decent.
Anyway...I'm considering driving to the circuit (well, close enough to walk to/from the track). Do you or anyone else have any pointers/suggestions?
Yeah, you don't walk to the track unless you like really long walks. For the front straight grandstand you'll be in, I'd park downtown in Old Montreal, find a big hotel and grab a taxi at its taxi stand out. You'll get dropped off near the Casino and it will save a bit of walking. Alternatively, you can ride Le Metro to the BERRI/UQAM station, then change to the Longueuil train and get off at Jean Drapeau. You don't need a map, just follow all the obvious F1 fans but here's one anyways:
You can also catch a boat ride from the foot of Place Jacques Cartier over to the island.
To get where you want to go, look at the last designation on the line as the train platform you want to be on as your stop will be along that directional route.
Example: If you were at the McGill station looking to get off at BERRI/UQAM, you'd get on the platform designated HONORE-BEAUGRAND (green line).

Thanks for the tips. Looks like taxi it is, then. I can only imagine the rush on the way out haha.

I'm driving up Sat afternoon. Gonna wander around Montreal for a bit with the gf, then call it an early night. Go to the race on Sunday, and drive back home.
Don't call it an early night!! Saturday night on Crescent St. is a blast! There's free bands, lots of partying and a good time everywhere. There's nothing happening at the track early so you don' have to be there until 12:00 at the earliest. Can't get to quail on Saturday? That's the best part of the whole weekend.
. . . . OR go hang around the front door of the St. James Hotel in Old Montreal, you may catch a glimpse of Vettel or Raikkonen early evening when they traditionally head out for sponsor meetings. Ditto for McLaren who stay at Hotel Nelligan on Rue St. Paul. I can't remember the name of the hotel where RBR stays

Hahah ok, so maybe "early" is relative. We'll be out and about, for a bit anyway. Thanks for all the tips, Chief!
