Snagging a 2007 w/ Tech Package and 58,000 miles. Both front door handles work, no AFS to fail, seat leather isn't torn, and side mirrors are tight, huzzah! Hi folks, new member here. Wish I'd found this forum earlier as there's lots of great advice and RL-specific conversation, from what I've seen so far.

I'm a long-time Honda/Acura owner. 2 years ago we traded our beautiful '08 TL in to bring home a CPO '11 RL w/ Tech package.

We love the car, but it hasn't been trouble free. 5 trips to the dealer for warranty issues, 2 of those were repeat fixes for oil leaks (suspect technician/install error).

We're on the fence about keeping it right now as the CPO runs out soon and I'm skeptical that I won't have any more leaks in the future. Tranny seal twice, front axle seal twice thus far.

Anyhow, just wanted to introduce myself and say "hi".

I'm a long time Honda person, worked for Honda in my earlier career too. Have owned all JDM DC2R, Ek9. and CL1R as well since probably 15 years ago now. Last vehicle was a Honda Elysion RR4 and a 2015 Honda Fit RS. Decided Legends for the price was unbeatable as a new long distance cruising project. I haven't got proper pics on yet as I've just been dong things to it and haven't give it a good clean up for proper pics yet.

But so far, I've lowered it with H&R springs, put on Enkei LS-5 20x8.5" with 40 offset (Weak i know looking at 30-32 next) running 245/35/20 tyres. Put in my own custom made cold air intake with JDM Blitz SUS stainless steel air filter. Deleted both mufflers and replaced with 2x twin straight pipes. Oh and fully tinted windows because gangster...

Good to be here! This car is actually my wife's. We have driven 2nd Gen Legends for many years, and I still have my '94L, with 145K. The "new" car had 134,858 miles on it, serviced religiously at Pohanka Acura in Chantilly, VA, was owned by a elderly lady who unfortunately drove with a small pet in the back seat, who did some minor damage to the seat bottom. Both door mirrors were somewhat damaged, but operable. There are minor surface scratches on the exterior that I think I can repair. The glove box is fine-no bubbles, but the armrest/console is worn bad, so I will replace that. I am very impressed with the ride and handling. I think I prefer mechanical accelerator linkage to the "wire" type. Hopefully, we will quickly learn how close the front of the car is to the object ahead of us!

Picked up my 05 RL Nav model 9 days ago and so far I'm enjoying the car. Only things done so far are LEDs and a drop-in K&N. I'm not going to mod much honestly - my German cars have given me more than enough reasons to pull wrenches out the last several years - but there'll definitely be some enhancements done and I'm a firm believer in "upgrade, don't replace" when parts wear out, so it'll evolve over time. 127k on the clock with timing, trans/diff drain and fills, oil change, cabin filter, armrests, and pads all around done and documented within the last 20 days. For $6900 including all that work, even though I wanted a black interior, I couldn't pass it up.

 

Those wheels are gorgeous and go perfectly with your car's color! I'm considering a gray one also.

Any questions and concerns, bring it all to his attention. He'll definitely help you out. I swear I would have annoyed him with all the questions and concerns I had; I'm a very meticulously analytical individual, but he was patient, professional and courteous. I see no sense in getting wheels from anyone else whose rims aren't made specifically for our cars/brand. There could be others. But Ron's reputation procedes him. No regrets on my end. God! I love my bloody car! Have hankook on. Not sure what ride quality is suppose to be, but coming from stock 17s, definitely feel the difference. Will get some pzeros after I burn these out. By then I might be able to tell the difference.
