Honda has a chrome problem.....never been a fan of it.

I had the window trim tape on my AV6 sedan......lasted a long time, was great stuff.

Since the TL needs a full respray anyway, I figure I would let the shop just do it right from the get go.

More details on the Weber?

@Flip, plenty of time, but after you just bought that house, not sure you will want to trade that in for cold weather. What's the square footage on your current house?

Speaking of homes, the prices here, are insane, we will have to move WELL outside the city.

Not looking forward to when the time comes for us to look at getting a detached.
Three years ago, I bought a very nice looking grill from superstore. Got it at the end of season, for about 480 if I remember correctly. I think it was like 200 off.

What a catastrophic piece of shit that grill was. And the customer service left me wanting to put a bullet in my skull after every time I dealt with them. The lid was bent when I opened the box and I couldn't get another because they no longer were making that grill for the next year. It was shit stainless steel. There was nothing quality about that grill. Ended up leaving it at the house when we moved.

I ended up buying a Weber s330 today. No idea what to expect, but judging by the lowes reviews, it has 53 five star ratings, 5 four star ratings, and like 2 1 star ratings (always gotta wonder about those). Picking it up tonight and assembling it. Doesn't have near the features a Napoleon or Broil King has, but I was thinking about it, and besides for the handle lights and rotisserie, I don't think I need the other shit. And the lights and rotisserie can be added on.

I just want a grill that won't look like shit after one year.

For BBQs, you can't go wrong with Broil King, Weber, or Napolean. As for the other brands, caveat emptor.

Read about your Weber purchase in the BBQ thread. Congrats.

Ideally, I would love to have the outdoor kitchen one that Lowe's carries.....but then I would need to build my house around that........

We bought ours from SS back in '09......definitely showing signs of wear and tear, mostly because of user abuse......but still does a great job grilling.

Definitely want to upgrade, and have been looking at the top (current) option at SS, as well as Home Depot.

Agree with you, other than the lights and the rotisserie, and somewhere to hang my grilling tools, there isn't much else I would need. Would be happier with a grill that has drawers as well.

All of these things, that grill at SS comes with, except I think, the handle lights.....easily remedied. Current price, $800.

More than certain they will have some at the end of the season, so, I will be doing some more in depth comparison shopping and seeing which one I will pull the trigger on.

Fuck man, good luck. I refuse to deal with superstore for a grill again. The store doesn't give a fuck about anything. If you have issues, call the manufacturer. Sadly, manufacturer doesn't give a fuck either

What you're essentially paying for is 2 things. Maybe 3.
1. The name.
2. Quality of metal used.
3. Quality of burners.

Not all lids are created equal and I now understand why the weber lids are so damn heavy. Dual layer lid, so the inside layer gets nice and crispy burnt, while the exterior looks beautiful and untarnished. I've seen cheaper dual layer lids where the inside layer is much much thinner... Those end up looking shitty after a short while too.

Yum, I had a VERY hard time deciding between those three brands. Wifey ordered me the Napoleon. I got her to cancel the order. I then Was stuck between broil king and weber. I REALLY like the broil king, but I felt the one I wanted was a little too big.

If I go with that SS grill, hopefully all will be well the second time around.

I can appreciate the quality of the brand name grills though, definitely something to be said of the build quality.

I think the range I would stick to is between 60k-75k BTU's.......those grills usually have just about all the features I would want.

Needs to be a quality grill regardless, I grill year round.

Don't be fooled by BTUs. It's kind of a useless trait of BBQs. All it tells you is how much fuel your grill uses, not necessarily how hot it can get. The weber I bought is only 38000 BTUs, but due to the cooking "box" being built well, it still gets hot as fuck. My buddy can bottom out his temp gauge on his!

75k BTU! LOLOL!!!!!!

How many damn people are you all cooking for MOST of the time?

If you need a grill THAT hot just build yourself something custom.

My Weber has four-fifths the S330s cooking area. Has half of the internal volume. And runs on two-thirds of the BTUs. It'll bottom out the temp gauge in less then 8 minutes.

I didn't even care about BTUs this time around... I used to... Until I read into it some more. I always thought more is better. Nope.

No, not at all. Burner placement and hood quality/efficiency matter far more.

It's not that I go by those numbers, it's more the grills in that range offer the features I want.....easier to give the BTU range than to tell you every BBQ I am considering in that range, because there are quite a few I am considering.

Not to mention, chatting with folks tat have made recent BBQ purchases, will help me in narrowing my choices down.

It's never about how many people I cook for, although on occasion, I cook for 20+ a number of times.

I love my Weber.
I've never had a grill that could cook so evenly...still SOME hot spots...but then when it's your grill, you know where they are and dole out the meat accordingly to accommodate the miscreants that want more than medium rare.

Did some grilling tonight, actually.

Could bbq every day.

I would agree about the BTU sizes/smaller cooking area/quality grill, I like a larger size grill because there is usually a bunch of stuff that goes on it.

Usually cook for the immediate meal and then to have something for leftovers to take to work.

Then of course there is the cooking for large numbers that we have for the large family events:

The MDX is in desperate need of wash/clay/wax as well as some serious interior detailing.

Planning to do some refreshing of it as well, after showing my wife the plans for it.

Whichever car I'm not driving to work the next day sleeps outside.

LOL, Flip/Rock, you both are driving imports and your wives are rolling in domestics.

So, what, they aren't worthy or you didn't find an import SUV that they liked?

Well if I ordered the visors earlier I would have paid 10 bucks more.

When it was time to buy an SUV, the Explorer won for us hands down. All the features, the styling etc. I love that thing. We looked at the highlander 2G pilot (3G wasn't out yet, was going to wait for it, but so glad I didn't)

I actually like the look of the Explorer as well, probably the best looking one yet, so, makes sense.

Yet to drive one, but would jump at the chance just to see what the ride/quality is like.
