Haha, nice. They're popular cars here. I'll be going to SpeedOptions. They came recommended by some people I trust, and they'll under-coat the wheel-well after the roll to help with the rust problems some people get. Plus, it sounds like they'll roll/pull exactly to the wheels that you take them, so they can get it nice and flush. I'll post next week once its all done and the new wheels are on, so I can give a review then.

$240 would be a great price. I paid about $400 CAD, which is around $310 USD (including shipping).

I haven't done a full mount with them yet since the fenders are getting pulled as I write this, but just seating the lugs in the wheel looked awesome. They'll be the only colorful/fun piece on an otherwise completely monochrome car.

Total Garbage. Which is really too bad, cause it's awfully pretty...












The fender roll/pull is pretty aggressive, probably about half an inch out. It'll take some getting used to, as I've never had a pulled car before. Even with that pull, the Advan's still wouldn't fit with neutral camber, so to ensure I never have any issues with rubbing, they're dialed in at -3*. Love it.

 

they look fantastic, we really need centre caps though eh, fuck that area is ugly as hell lol...and yea I'm wondering what I'm gonna have to do when i throw mine on here really soon. but mine are +45, I do want to get them as flush as possible with spacers as I dont wanna roll or pull anything lol ..

what do you think

 

Thanks! I'm looking in to centre caps, but am headed back to the shop today to clean that area up (wire brush and some paint).

I think the +45's will fit just fine. Should be able to run them neutral and low (lower than me for sure).

Have you test fitted the wheels yet? The first thing I would want to make sure of is the clearance for your RL BBK. If your all good there, then it's probably just a case of measuring. Calculate your clearance from the INSIDE of the fender (the unrolled fender is shaped like an L and will be a few mm closer to the wheel than the outside), and then decide how far away you want to be. If you don't want to roll anything and want to go low I don't think you'll be able to do much more than +10 spacers. Might be able to do more if you have a camber kit.

 

I dont have the RL BBK installed yet, thats going to take me more time than I thought. But i do have all the camber kits. Looks like I'm just gonna have to start test fitting shit. lol

 

Here's some more photos with the cleaned up hubs. I was able to use the same silver paint as the calipers, so they tie together nicely. Bad news though, both front calipers are shot. They're leaking at the front/lower seal. I bought them refurbished less than a year ago, so hopefully they can be replaced on warranty. I'll find out this week.







Last, here's a close-up of the fender pull. It's hard to photograph, but you can see the straight line from the front bumper up to where it meets the wheel arch, and then it bulges out about a half inch.

 

Are you guys really going to run those sweet wheels with no center caps?!!

I think you guys have to go center caps it totally takes away from the look. But on the flip side the wheels look great!!

 

id rather rather have centre caps for sure. The paint is a temporary thing. Advan centre caps are like 300 bones. Not exactly what Im wanting to spend on plastic lol

 

I actually don't mind the look with no centre cap, at least not now that I've cleaned them up. Advan doesn't make a centre cap that matches the dark gun color of the wheel, so it would have to be silver anyway, and I'd have to take out the hub rings since they'll stop the centre cap from fitting. At 300 CAD for 4 pieces of plastic, I'm pretty content to wait.... forever....

 

They're metal...not plastic. My wife forced me to buy them...she's like you just spent $2K on the rim and you want to be cheap with the finishing touches? Order from evasive...get mid or low height to clear the axle nut IIRC.

Originally I used a hubcentric ring and then an acura center cap. Looked good.

That's good to know. Still though, It's really a toss-up for me. Especially when I can invest that $300 in to a CAI or something else the car could use. With the silver paint in there, I'm not saying no... just not right now.

 

results may vary... Not sure which hub rings or offset Rockstar has, but my acura caps did not fit.

Thanks for the link! I know where to find them, and how much they are. I have a friend who's looking to see if sourcing them from Japan is cheaper than the US with the current FX. Still TBD on buying.

I tried to find cheap sets...to no avail.
Honestly, we're lucky we can even get them from evasive.
Pay them, and forget about it...the look is worth it.

 

this exactly. i never would buy wheels (and expensive ones at that) if i couldn't finish the look on them. just seems a little backwards considering you paid 400 CAD for lugnuts...i 10x over would have got center caps before the lug nuts.

trust me...i was like, naw babe...the oem caps looks great...but the advan are night and day difference. it's what separats the rotas from the men.

 

Alright cool, I get it, you guys like centre caps. If you feel so strongly, I'll DM my mailing address and you can have them shipped to me.

I'm sure I'll get them eventually, but I just don't feel the need for them like rockstar does.

Thanks! To be honest, not a whole lot. I've brought it to here from stock in 10 months, so my wallet is pretty flat. I think the visual stuff is more or less all checked off. I have an appointment for a full polish and detail in two weeks, and I might start fiddling with the engine a bit - CAI, lightweight pulley, etc. - but anything more than that will likely wait for next summer.

I did just find out that my front rotors are shot, so I'll be looking to replace them. Hopefully on warranty (purchased last July), but we'll see.

In s2000 community there's this huge joke about hard parkers and liking center caps vs real track guys not running them. lol...I always saw it as an excuse to be cheap. All good, man...if you're happy and don't care...don't bother with them!
