Why in the fuck are you buying an oem windshield? Go to any glass shop and get an aftermarket one, that will last just as long, for $300.

 

I have a very hard time justifying almost 1k for a piece of glass that will have rocks thrown at it the minute I drive out of the shop. I'm an oem parts whore through and through, but windshields are the one place where aftermarket makes more sense.

Cuz...the FX50 has sensors and a camera mounted on the windshield. If it was just a plain-jane glass windshield on a regular car, I wouldn't even have gotten coverage on it.

I still have a soft spot for the 96 4 runners.

 

My fondness for the 4Runner started with the 3rd gen. Likewise the similar looking 1st gen Tacoma. I eventfully grew to appreciate the 1st gen 4Runner for it's quirky removable top ways. The 2nd and 4th gen did nothing for me though but thankfully the 5th gen regained some of that passion, just in time.

Not the friendliest vehicle for conserving gas though.

 

My parents had a base 97.. 4cyl..5speed.. 2wd.

I didn't care for it. It was cramped and rode awful.

I want an 06-09 Sport or Limited or 14+ Trail Edition if money wasn't an option. I'd be content with a last gen.

 

My pops had a limited 96 4 runner... My buddy has a lifted 97.
