Johnny I saw your text yesterday. Iymma hold out because I believe the company that I really want is getting fiber optic in my area so I won't need to go with Comcast anymore....

Also, has anyone did the 9.3 update for iPhone? I guess I could go to the iPhone thread, but I'm being lazy.

All of my vinyl samples came in.

I'm thinking titanium (second from the right) will be the one to use. The leather one...

The black brushed steel is actually pretty cool. Although very hard to see in photos.

It does and doesn't. I think that's more my phone camera skills / lighting.

Really the aluminum is the closest in overall color.

I don't know...I wish those pieces weren't so expensive new. I hate doing this kind of mod.

Tell me about it, man...
I plan to try and find some way to touch up the light spots that have chipped...I really don't want to lose the contrast, nor be forced into wrapping.

To me it's more of the "I'm wrapping interior pieces because they are shitty" idea. Even though it will likely look better than the damaged stuff I have now, to me, it kind of makes the car feel less nice. Because I know I painted over shitty walls.

Does that make any sense? Lol

Maybe I'm weird.

Yeah, I know what you mean.
What sucks is that I doubt I'd damage a new set because I haven't even put one scratch on the painted stuff.

If I redo the paint thing, I think I'll end up having them all professionally painted gunmetal or something that still contrasts.

Chad, just send the car to the crusher. Chipped interior piece? Game over, man. Game over.

Just got the call that they are ready about 30 minutes ago. I'll pick them up tomorrow.

I hear you though. I'm surprised mine still look pretty good. I never seem to really touch them when in the car.

Have you considered in wrapping them with legitimate CF? I know there was a guy on AZ who was doing it... just an overlay on top of the OEM pieces. It wasn't cheap, but damn, it looked really good.

Ooooooor.... can you get any from an autowrecker? That'd likely be your cheapest bet.

I could probably source them used but at this point they would be at a minimum a decade old! So the likelihood of finding a good set is small. On top of that people who know what's up know how expensive they are. So used ones can still be pricey.

Like J mentioned, and don't get me wrong his wacker black painted pieces are nice, but I want to keep the contrast. So real cf wouldn't look right to me.

I'll snap some pics of the samples in the interior and see what you guys think. If I don't like any of them I'll look more seriously into the hydro/powder angle.

We'll see what happens. After doing my brakes/wheel studs that's next.

My CD player is also working intermittently. Not excited to diagnose that one.

Wallet's burning a hole though....oem visors or HIC roof spoiler? Leaning visors first.

Lol. It's actually kind of cool... So are the construction color pieces. I got those because I've been considering wrapping my oem (winter) wheels in a highlighter color.

around here, there are plenty of young punks with JDM Subarus that do the same thing. Just gets old seeing it so often. I guess if it's a rarity in your parts, you can start the trend!

Mmm mmm mmm pot roast

Thats no good man.

Have you had a lot of issues? I've got bimmer friends and when it comes down to it none of them have really had many issues. Sensors here and there but nothing major.

I'm nervous to jump into the Audi/BMW world. Would you do it again?

Actually I've put my fair share of use onto those pieces. And the issues with the piece on the drivers side door skin is strictly my fault.

No, I haven't had a lot of issues. Heater/A/C Control went out right after I got the 335i. Fixed under the CPO. Wiring to the oil level sensor got eaten by a rodent, I had to pay for that. The wiring was fixed 2 weeks ago but the sensor stopped working the next day so I had planned on taking it back in anyway. Then the misfire on Saturday sped up the process.

As for Audi/BMW, I honestly think I'll go back to Japanese when I'm done with the bimmer. I love the power and handling, but I'm scared all the time I'm going to break something when I got WOT.

I shouldn't have to worry because...

Oh yeah, had an oil leak where the oil filter housing attaches to the block, also fixed under CPO.

Did your powder guy come down on price, or you sucked it up to get it done? or new powder guy.

Gary, fk man... you need one...I hope this isn't a new trend and if it's another "not covered under warranty".

CPO is the way to go for BMW's... I would NEVER consider a used German car if not for CPO...

New is nice, but fuck that markup, i'll let someone else pay the depreciation for me

That's a honest and interesting opinion GK. One you don't hear very often from BMW owners.

Are you a wrencher? I actually watched a ton of videos on servicing the S5 DIY style and I often caught myself saying things like "wow...it makes so much more sense to mount the bumper that way instead of Hondas way". Etc.

The bimmer CPO is very good it covers almost everything but each time I have a $50 deductible, which isn't bad.

Totally agree! I can't believe how smart (lucky) I was to buy one with a CPO warranty. The depreciation on German is ridonkulous...I would never buy new German...wait, is Bugatti German or Italian?
