Exhaust Setups - Collection/Archive w/audio

Me and some buddies were talking last night and we wanted to start an archive for all the different exhaust setups for the 3G Acura TL. Explain your exhaust setup piece by piece & post a clip. Any other info you wanna share, feel free.

Mine setup is rear muffler deletes: OE pcd, J-Pipe, cat, resonator, mid muffler, and straight pipe back from mid muffler to exhaust tips -

Sounds good. Does pcd stand for pre cat delete. Trying to decide what I want to do. Thought about just a long 24" or so cherry bomb glasspack where the resonator and mid muffler are with straight pipe going back from there with some kind of polished stainless tips.

pcd = pre cat delete. most go with HFPC = high flow pre cat so they dont get a gross smell and rasp

Ok so OculiAquilae you said in your set up you've got is rear muffler deletes: OE pcd, J-Pipe, cat, resonator, mid muffler, and straight pipe back from mid muffler to exhaust tips. Is there a OE pcd? New to this forum just inherited my wife's 05 TL base just trying to understand all the acronyms and mods that everyone has done.

OE PCD means OEM catalytic convertors. PCD's (pre cat deletes)are purchased through a company called rv6. You can also get HFPC (high flow pre cat) from them too. Honestly man, dont hack up the exhaust lol, just buy a legit catback from the vendors. If money is a concern, then just leave it alone

^^ nice videos!!

Do you know what resonator is on the rv6 true dual? I have the xlr8 exhaust and replaced the tiny xlr8 resonator with magnaflow 10436. This week I may install magnaflow 10426 (4" shorter) to get some of that growl back

Just take it out completely! The XLR8 non-resonated sounds nasty!

um no haha, i'm in my 30s now and don't want the loudest car on the block, waking up my neighbors, and can't hold conversations in the car haha. rasp doesn't sound good to me (minor from HFPCs, but still there)

3 years ago i added the hfpcs, which add quite a bit of sound when paired with an exhaust and added some rasp, so my resonator did the perfect job for me and still allows it to sound aggressive when pushing it. just looking to grab a little back 3 years later

just curious about the rv6. i think it's actually a two pipe mid-muffler now that i think about it?

Haha understandable, although I would hardly call even the non-resonated catbacks that loud, at least compared to my friends' cars (they also make significantly more power to justify the loud noises lol)

I do agree with you regarding the hfpc...I also have hfpc, and if you watched my video, you can definitely tell I have them...I wish there was a way to get rid of the sound and keep the performance benefits.

In terms of the RV6 resonator, I'm not sure, I don't know many who have the true dual system

Cowboy, rear muffler deletes only, yes. So my entire exhaust system is stock with the exception of having removed the rear mufflers. So my exhaust come down off the black and goes: OE primary cats, OE J-Pipe, OE resonator, OE mid muffler and then it's just pipe straight out the back to the exhaust tips I bought.
