honestly you're shooting to wide open IMO. Only your dogs face is in focus. the rest is out of focus. I would think for a product photo an emphasis should be put on the product?

Caught the sunset for a shoot

More shots below, finally having some time to pick out finals.

Finally had some time to take some shots of wife's design at home. It's just a white cardboard box laid out in the patio area. I got super busy with my own little side gig, so couldn't really get on this. Might need to find a local photographer to do the product shots and do other natural shots myself around house.. We will see how it goes.

Seeing the seam in the first photo is unappealing...and I see the corrugation from the cardboard in the other shots.

 

Good catch.. OK will get rid of those!

Built this new set tonight and decided to play around on a whim. Im just bummed I didn't have any gels for my lights at my house. I wanted a more saturated blue black light and more orange fill...to try and better match the colors in the film. Next time

+1. Give him something to be excited for. His look appears like "This sweater sucks".

They make this thing that looks like a fishing rod that slides into the hot shoe of your camera. You can hang a treat or toy on the other end to get them to look at you.

 

Light years better than the first attempts IMO!

Really focuses the view on the product with no distractions.

If, as Sarlacc pointed out, you can get rid of the seam and the cardboard texture that would be great, but it is really nice work and really showcases the actual product. Well done and a huge improvement IMO!

Cool PTTL, what the hell is it?

 

It was originally a series of white roses with one crimson rose in the middle. I was reading about a "twirling" effect done in PS so I tried it on the shot and this is what I decided on.

The roses were taken from a close up of these:
