Looking for some black ones online but I don't which type to get. Never heard of these cone, acorn etc. lugs before. I though it was all the same shit...

 

The wheels will dictate what shape lug nut you get.

Honda/Acura wheels use a ball seat lug nut.
most aftermarket wheels use a acorn or tapered lug nuts.




So, the SURFACE of the wheel will dictate what type of lug nuts you use.

as you can see in the picture above; a ball seat lug nut will not fit in an acorn styled wheel.

In most cases OEM are ball seat and after market are cone .

 

actually that applies only to hondas. theres a lot of oem wheels from other manufacturers that use the washer style seat. not sure what its formally called but its flat. i've seen this on toyotas, infinitis, and mitsubishi lancer evo's
