Houston Man Drives Brand New ZL1 Camaro Into Pool, Discovers It To Be Horrible Submarine
The 2014 Camaro ZL1 is a very fast and capable car. With a supercharged engine, huge brakes, tuned suspension, and more, it is capable of running with some of the most well known and highest priced coupes in the world. One man in Houston, Texas found the car’s ultimate weakness, though. It is a horrid submarine and an even worse boat. According to various news reports and accounts of the incident the driver of this Camaro was out and about, driving well beyond his skill level and managed to jump a curb, smash through a fence, and then land his Camaro smack dab into the middle of a community pool. Thankfully there was no one in the pool and the driver was able to escape out of the window, which was open when he headed for Davy Jones’ locker.
Eye witness reports from the scene contain some amazing details, like this quote from a driver who was following the Camaro as the incident happened, “He lost control, and I think he took his traction control off. And then he just hit the curb, and then went into the fence, and then he hit the pool.” We’e not sure if the traction control was on or off but we are sure the “look out for that pool” control was off. There is no word if the driver of the Camaro is at all related to Keith Moon, the famed (and dead) drummer who made kind of a habit out of driving cars into swimming pools although his choice in livery was more luxury minded than sports car minded like the Camaro.
We have video of the car being dead lifted out of the pool by a mighty wrecker with a rotating crane. All of the news reports we have seen claim that the car was removed and then the entire pool was drained and inspected for liner problems where the car landed. We can only imagine the bills that are going to start rolling in and how quickly the insurance company is going to throw the driver off their policy. Note to all ZL1 owners, if you aren’t that versed in high performance driving, leave the “talent switch” in the on position.

Bought a new TV today. Sony 70" KDL W850B.. Thought it was a compromise since the Sammy 75's were OOS. Fucking takes up the whole wall.
