I was actually thinking of trying the seafoam in the gas tank. I heard people got rid of the code for a while with that method. But the dealer will see what's wrong with the car and wave the diagnostic fee because I was just there. So I might as well go there first.

If the cat does need to be replaced, I'll try the seafoam, clear the code, and get rid of the car.

I take back anything bad I said about the 4G TL. It's brilliant and I love it.

To bad your getting rid of your car, you could have swapped intake manifolds before returning it.

That sucks I'm at about thy point with mine. Everytime I do something now I'm without the car for a period of time or I get a cel. I would much rather have this problem then the surging idle with no cel so I have to guess what it is

yeah I really wish I had another car so I could keep this car around as is so I could keep tinkering with it but I just can't do that right now. I need a reliable form of transport.

I'm with you on that one after I finish this last few things I'm done with performance related mods. I cant keep waiting to fix it again and again so i'm just going to stick with wheels and a few other things till I get a new car at the end of next year. Mustang 5.0

Car went back to the dealer for some pretty nasty sounding engine knock, so this is mine for a few days. I like it.

The backup camera screen in the rearview mirror is pretty sick.

Nope, honestly don't miss it. I do miss the MDX though. So quiet and comfortable.

So it turned out that the engine "knock" sound I was hearing was a leaky header mixed with the standard valve tick problem. Car went back to another shop to get OEM headers reinstalled.

This weekend, the racing seats and all audio comes out. Will have more stuff for sale soon. In the meantime, check my current for sale thread everyone!

Me too! Well, the very excited part. I'm not sorry to see the TL go. Good riddance

Oh I should also mention that the CEL that I had for several months was fixed by the dealership there was a loose connection in one of the connectors somewhere in the harness that had to do with the O2 sensors.

Nope it's still there. It's only 35% so it's not really that dark.

Just spent the past 3 hours skimming through this entire thread and I have to say I'm really impressed with everything you've done so far to the car!

Are you selling your car because of the high maintenance costs? I wish I had the same mods as you haha

Maintenance costs wasn't necessarily the issue. The fact that the car was in the shop at least once or twice a month for several days at a time was the really frustrating part.

Plus, now that I graduated school and have a real job, I can afford something nicer and more reliable so I won't have any issues getting to work. Instead of pouring money into my old beat up TL, I'd rather pour that same money into a new car with a manual, awd, and turbo....

That's depressing. I want to work on my car but at the same time I don't want to pour money into it when I can save up for something better ;(

On my third tranny already. Seems like it dies every 30k miles and the last one was replaced at 70k. I'm at 102k right now so I feel like my tranny will poop any day now. *crosses fingers hoping it doesn't die on way to school*

lol I considered it. But they are 60K+ after all is said and done

I found a few R32s and R33s but I have no idea how to get a loan for something like that at my age. Also they were 20K+. I can always get one in the future.
