I am just waiting to hear some more feedback on the base maps (not a dyno tune). I know hondata is legit, but I've only heard about one guy using it and he did a dyno tune.

 

I'd really hope they'll be some totally stock Type-S & Base TL's doing this so members that otherwise have 0 mods can see what to expect on average gains from adding this awesome part.

 

With a lot of base maps or a little, doing your own map isn't that hard at all. It's quite simple actually. Afterall, Hondata Flashpro teaches you how to fine tune your car.

 

thanks, been trying to read up on it and it doesn't seem that bad just unfamiliar territory i guess. am also looking into the etune services that seem companies offer but i'll put that discussion in another thread since i don't want to hijack marcus' thread

marcus any cutoff for the group buy? only downside is i would have to accelerate my plan/decision to get hfpcs and an intake

 

Tuning is about more than just a peak number gained Looking at just that number to wonder if its worth it or not isnt a good idea. Tuning is also about smoothing things out which makes the car much more lively and smoother in its power delivery.

 

Yep, sadly most people just want big numbers, not realizing that a well-tuned car producing 300 whp will be faster and smoother than the same car putting down 320 whp but doesn't have a good tune.

 

Anyone who plays Forza even knows this

 

I'm not so sure about the etune thing...yeah it works to an extent but if you are going to spend that kind of time you might as well just go get a real tune none.

Newsflash, we are looking at doing a dyno day at PSI in Hillsboro, OR as well. Any takers there?

Marcus, I have an 08 MT TSX and currently only have a Icebox installed. I was planning on getting a reflash by the end of the month. Do you think a reflash is sufficient for me or would you recommend me to just hold off and purchase a flashpro (in case of future mods) through this group buy instead? Im in SD so I have no problem driving up for this.
