So i just got my coilovers, and i was wondering will i need camber kit for the rear for a 2"inch drop? I been reading around the forums, and would it be smart to just drop it first than get wheel alignment, then figure if i need camber kit? then getting another wheel alignment? again sorry for this post about camber i been really confuse :/ thankss

 

Depends on how much camber you're running. The main you thing you want corrected is toe. It will eat a tire like crazy. People here run -3 (camber) in the rear and have no problems.

I myself am at -2.5 in the rear with a 2" drop. I just lowered some more over the weekend and I'll be getting another alignment soon.

It's kind of a preference, I myself will be getting a rear camber kit.

 

With coilovers, and going 2" drop, I would go ahead and install the camber kit at the same time. That way when you get your alignment you can be done in one trip.

If you wait till you get your alignment first, then need a camber kit then you could have almost bought the camber kit to start off with.

Two alignments will cost more than a camber kit. I installed all my suspension at once (coils, camber kit, rolled fenders) so I was done after getting an alignment. no more second trips or worn tires till I got the parts needed.

 

what if i have function form 2, with camber plate adjustment. how does that work?

 

when your camber is more than your drop, you are doing it wrong

OP I would get a camber kit. I'm only dropped on springs and I got a rear kit and I'm considering getting adjustable ball joints for the front. I would rather pay $150 or so to correct the camber than ruin tires.

 

The 3G TL has a lot of negative camber/toe issues when being lowered. There's a fair amount of negative camber from the factory in the rear.
