Rv6 setup

So summers nearing and its finally time for me to order my exhaust parts. Give me your input on this custom setup

1) RV6 J Pipe--on sale now--should i wait for the new ATLP pipe?
2) RV6 true dual tips--anyone have experience with these?
3) mid muffler delete
4) 12' dynamex or magnaflow resonator--is dynamex better?

do you guys think I need magnaflow mufflers as well?

Look, if all you want is sound. then do the MM delete.

but, once you start upgrading the primary cats, you will get rasp. HORRIBLE RASP!!!!!
so, if you have no intentions of upgrading the cats, then go ahead and get the MM delete.

after talking to you, your goals is mainly sound.
as you said..."I DONT CARE ABOUT HP."

When you mod, you need to have a certain goal in mind.
and without telling us your goals, you will get misdirected. (i know because i keep misdirecting you)

SO, FIGURE OUT WHAT YOU WANT OUT OF THE EXHAUST.
when you have that figured out, come back and tell us what you want.

lol thats fair. Youv actually been really helpful, I learned a lot just off what you said
I totally understand what you mean. If I do the MM deletes and get the HFPCs later, then it will sound raspy and shitty

I want most bang for my buck, this wont be my last car so I dont want to dump too much money into it. I am planning o buying an S2000 in a few years. I set a 5k limit last year, already spent 3k

I have 2 K left. I was dumb enough to get lowering springs so now I also have to get coils so thats about 700-800. Leaves me with about $1300 max for exhaust. thats after shipping and installation. So it leaves me with limited options. Its either J pipe or HFPC

The main question I have now is where will I see the gains?
I understand J Pipe roars at around 4700. When will I feel the HFpcs?

Sell your springs on the BM once you get them off.

Pickup new RV6 Jpipe+HFPC/PCD combo if you can't wait.

Else wait to see how the ATLP Jpipe does.
PCD option will be RV6 either way though.

Better bang for buck than just the catback new.

Then save a few $ and keep a look out for a used catback on the BM.

Because of the way our engines make power, WE WILL ONLY FEEL POWER AT HIGH REV's!
4700-7k is where the power is at.
Now, you do gain torque at 2k RPM, but most people on here will bitch and say "I CANT FEEL IT"
you're not supposed to.
why?
because the engine isnt made to make power at 2k.
But, I'm telling you I did gain torque at 2k. with dyno's to prove.

it feels more comfortable to drive at 2k rpm, where as before my pcds and jpipe, I hated driving at 2k.

Good call. No point in doing anything in the winter, I can wait to see what ATLP comes up with
Agree with everything else. Hard to come across a used cat back here in Toronto, probabbly just do the magnaflow set up

I went with the ATLP j-pipe, removed MM, dynomax resonator, magnaflow exhausts, porsche 966 exhausts tips. NO RASP at all, I kept catalytic converter and did not do PCD cause I wanna pass emissions

I want the rv6 setup but am going to settle for something different. Not trying to threadjack but your headed the same way I am.

I have a 07 type s and right now have the MM delete and a dynomax resonator. Sounds very nice. I plan to just add the rv6 j pipe which deletes the third cat.

Does anyone know if I do that, will I have rasp?

I would suggest checking out SpeedStar in Markham.
They are running a 50 % off special for their Anniversary on Install Labour.

Take advantage of it while you can and from my experience one of the few shops that truly have a passion for servicing vehicles.
Frank is very knowledgeable and can help you out with any questions you may have.

most of the rasp comes when you do the PCDs. some rasp doesnt actually sound bad but i guess i better tread lightly there. before i had my RV6 Dual exhaust i had PCD, Jpipe, mm delete and added a "14 magnaflow res and i had a lil bit of rasp but i actully liked it, it was almost ferrarish in the mid rpm range but not overpowering. exhaust sounds can be hit and miss though. however, ever since i switched to the RV6 TD i have never looked back, everybody that hears it thinks that it is some kind of exotic car before they see that it is a TL. LOL
