Power!!!

07 TL-S
Mods: K&N typhoon, p2r throttle body spacer, stage 3 stock exhaust mod

I NEED MORE POWER!!!
and it sucks that all we have are bolt ons for options, so I was thinking of what can be done to the car to get me to 300hp????
Bore it out to 3.7?

Whatever comes to mind affects the ecu, which as far as i know can't be tuned....so what to do, what to do?

Am i going to have to sell the car and get something more powerful?

the mods you have listed will not really increase your power. before you go FI you will need most bolt ons to support. thinking ahead you have the turbo or SC. otherwise you have PCD-jpipe-and aftermarkewt cat back. most if not all of your ? have been answered already. take some time to do research and then ask more educated questions. Good luck.

^^^ This

are you MT ?

for 300ish to the wheels your looking at:
Intake
Bored TB
Bored TBS
Bored Gaskets
PnP Manifold + Runners
PCD's
Jpipe
Exhaust
Pulley
ECU

Pretty much the full package....you will be close to 325-ish at that point

or you can get a SC or Turbo

PS there is GB going on for the ECU right now....gains of 21whp and 24wtq get on the wagon....link in my sig

Swoosh is dead on with the mods.

I would recommend to go about them in this order:

Jpipe
Exhaust
Intake
PCD's
Pulley
ECU

Then go into:
Bored TB
Bored TBS
Bored Gaskets
PnP Manifold + Runners

^wtf?

Seriously? How are those mods close to $10,000?

Full exhaust mods will cost ~$2000.
ECU ~$1300.
Pulley + Intake ~$500
Ported shit cant be more than than $1500.

$5000 worth of stuff bro & and the Ported shit is probably 10x cheaper than I said it was.

Labor won't cost $5000, and they are all easy DIYs.

I wish. Even buying used ported runners from P2R and getting the TB bored and IM and spacer port matched, I've got $500 into it.

It would probably cost another $500 to get my manifold done (I'm talking cutting/full porting/re-welding)

Oh you were talking about the Turbo-- thought you were talking about Swoosh's bolt-on

Turbo will not make you 300whp, with those bolt-ons you're looking at 500whp lol

I would assume you did your research into the car prior to the purchase but perhaps not.

The above outlined information is readily available to those inclined to look so this shouldn't come as a shock to you.
Labour for the listed NA mods is not bad but don't take our word for it.
Just pick up a phone and call a shop and ask about it. (if your serious that is)

Modding your TL isn't like modding a Civic.
You have to pay to play...

^^^sure you're right, but when it comes to paying as much as it would cost to do these mods then whats the point? Is the value to power gain really worth it?

LOL this is the price breakdown....how much did swoosh spend

AEM intake with bigger filter: $200 (back then they were cheap )
Moores Performance TB spacer: $50
Bored TB: $100
Bored Manifold and runners: $250
All Gaskets: $100
Bored MDX spacer: $50
PCD's: $250 (BM FTW )
Exhaust: $1800 round figure incase i missed something out
ECU + mods: $1800 (you can get the ECU by itself for 1225 )

Total: $4600
Gains: stock 5at is ~210hp and hoping am close to ~290 after ECU, so lets say 70hp

Turbo:
There is a GB going on right now:
Full turbo kit: $5600
ECU: $1225
Install (assuming you are not a DIY kinda guy + other expenses if any): $1000

Total: $7800
Gains: Atleast 230-250hp

you figure out whats a better deal

Swoosh went all out and gave you a price down and everything too. What a guy!

I doubt the OP is going to be doing any more mods to his vehicle.
Not everyone has the passion to mod their vehicle.
CAI + TBS barely is just grazing the surface.

If you don't feel its worth it that's your choice.
Just enjoy the view from your stock TL as the modified ones zoom past ya

^^^ you know bro i always tell:

pick a path....either go all out looking sexy or go all out with power....

once your fully bolted on then spend some cash and look sexy or once you all sexed up, then go adding a turbo....dont hang in the middle LOL....

since the TL is my first car, i was hanging in the middle for a while.....

but i have a feeling the OP will mod his car
