Thumbs up The Official Mercedes-Benz Discussion Thread

As evidence by the traffic in the last few Mercedes topics, there seems to be a good enough MB representation on AZ both as far as discussion and owners, that a separate thread can keep it all in one spot.

Enjoy!!

Luda, have you changed your parking light bulbs yet? If you did, which bulb did you get, and how much?

If I ever decides to do HID kit conversion, I would also want to change the ugly yellow parking bulbs to match the LED and the HID.

No I didn't change them. It reminds me of my w211. The parking lights were halogen in that too. It doesn't look so bad. It almost offsets the other lights. As a matter of fact I kind of like it. Plus - it won't improve anything for me. It will just "match" so others can see it.

FYI, it will get very messy if we mix the two b/c of the timing. Plus, I don't want to completely take over ludachrisvt's thread. So let's just use this one going forward.

One of these days I'll get some pics of ours up here. Maybe this weekend....

Hey, have any of you guys switched out the E-class headlights yourself. Looking in there I can't figure out how I can even fit my hand down there. And reading the MB forum makes it seem like heart surgury.

So wanted to see if you guys have done it...

bulbs you mean? You have to go through the fender well to really get at them. Take the wheel and guard off.

^ Yeah, sorry... bulbs. That's what I had heard on the forums, however, my wife had a bulb go out a few weeks ago and the service advisor replaced it right in the drive at the dealership... didn't even get a tech. I wish I was there to see it b/c she said he did it in like 30 seconds....

JB, which bulb are you talking about?? parking light bulb?
If you are talking about the parking light bulb then it is super easy... it won't even take 30 sec to do that.

even headlight shouldn't be THAT difficult. few weeks ago, I was playing around... taking grill apart, parking light bulbs, headlights etc etc... everything was right there. I don't think you even have to go through fender wall for that.

Sorry, I didn't mean to make it seem that way. He is the sales manager. Perhaps he'll have his own in time.

I'm going to give it a shot this weekend. With the long weekend, should have time.

On a side note, we went to the Charlotte Auto Show and my wife sat in the new A6. I could see something on her face, so I asked her what was up. She said she misses her A6... so now we're contemplating going back to Audi. She said she loves her E-Class, but loved the way the Audi drove better (AWD, tighter and more sporty). She also said maybe we can just lower the E and she'll be happy with that.

So, we'll see...

New A6 =

A6 is much better responding car than ours, that's for sure... When I was car shopping, A6 was my first choice... too bad that my old job couldn't even give a decent deal on A6 at the time.

Yeah, she loved the way that car drove. And she drives a lot (and enjoys driving) so that is important to her. I think I may have pressured her a bit into the E350... so now I'm just backing off and letting her decide. I think we're going to go Friday to test drive the A6... then she can think it over.

That said, she was looking at some Vossen Wheels yesterday... so that combined with a drop may change her mind. Don't get me wrong, she loves the E inside and outside... but misses the Audi drive. So we can test the new A6 this weekend and go from there...

Do the A6 S-line with some Concave VMR wheels However a Lowered E350 with Vossens would look good too.

Your wife is definitely a keeper!

I love my W212, too, but I would also rather get the new A6 over my car.

LOL... she is. Between her love of cars and the fact she lets me keep my motorcycle in the house, I'm in good shape

Just talked to her not too long ago. She said she doesn't want to go drive the A6. She said she loves her car, but feels like an old lady with it stock (except for tint and roof spoiler, it's 100% stock)... so she just wants it to look more aggressive. She said she found Vossen wheels she likes, so she's going to show me when we get home.

Looks like a trip to GMP Performance may be coming up after the holidays...

2012 Palladium Silver on Ash MB-Tex C250 Sport is on it's way. Premium 1, S32 COMAND, burl walnut trim, Keyless Go, and Rearview Camera. Owned a mint 2000 Sebring Silver on Ebony RL with nav before, and recently purchased a 2007 White Diamond Pearl on Taupe/Ebony TL Type-S. The TL is up for sale, as the new ride should be arriving the end of December/beginning of January.

Interesting to see a thread dedicated to Acura defectors...

Neither actually. Got it from Keffer VW (know the VP of Marketing). They got it certified at Hendrick.

Personally we prefer South Charlotte. Mainly b/c it's so much closer to our house. We have only had to bring it in for scheduled service, but so far they have been outstanding...
