Let us know how it turns out. You should be very happy. I've had Koni sports on my Civic for something like 7 years now. Still as stiff as the day I got them. Plus you can crank them to full stiff in the front and full soft in the rear if you go drag-racing (remember it's rebound only).

On the TL, how do you adjust the rears? They didn't put the knob at the top (behind the rear seats) did they?

 

^yeah the adjustment is right on top of the shock, so you have to take the rear seat out to adjust dampening. Sucks, but by now 10 min and that seat is out. I tried to put the bumpstops over the Koni's, but didn't want to force it to hard, so we drilled them out. It worked..

 

That's kinda lame. I guess you really don't mess with the adjustment though once you get it where you want. I haven't touched mine for probably 3-4 years.

It's okay to force them. You really don't want to drill them out because then they will just fall down the shaft once you get them past that welded stop on the shaft. I guess either way works. Just remember they are are squishy. They are not going to tear when you push them on.

okay, fine!

installed the suspension, bolted everything up.
using the jack, lowered rear.
came around front. I was using a piece of a 4x4 block to raise the car even higher. the block slipped as soon as I got the jack stands from underneath the car.
I knew that the block had slipped and thought I was in the clear.
UNTIL, I heard water dripping.
member bada$$vtec immediately said "oh shit, you busted the radiator." LOL.

called a dealership, they wanted 330 for a radiator that wasnt even in stock.

called our fav. junk yard that houses lots of wrecked TL's as Badassvtec remembered seeing a radiator from an 06 six speed TL.
scooped up the rad. for $120.


I've been acting like a noob this whole freakin install. cant wait to get my G status back.

I am very thankful that the block didnt slip as I was grabbing the jack stands.
No one was hurt butt my pride and my car.

It's all good buddy. We've all had our share of "stupid". Live & learn. At least you were smart enough not to buy a radiator from the dealer.

FYI: You can get the radiator directly from Denso for a lot less than the same radiator from Acura. Denso part number is 221-3231. They sell them for $145 at sparkplugs.com and I think you can find a coupon code for them too.

My Master Mechanic has always said "Education costs money". The fact is there is a steep learning curve when working on vehicles. Things rarely go as planned and sometimes you as a DIYer you make mistakes. That's part of the experience. Some people enjoy that experience and others do no. And that is why some people decide to forgo installing parts themselves and some continue to. I used to most of the work here at the shop when I first opened up; now I work on maybe a dozen cars a year (and half that time it's my own vehicles).

 

Plz Justin dont F anything up again this time,if you need me to come supervise you on the rad install i'll come thru. This whole install has turned into my longest ever all because you're the biggest noob ever.

weird. I expected to see the plastic bottom of the radiator BUSTED.
but i see nothing. it looks brand new.

Now, I'm wondering if this one(radiator?)^ is broken or leaking.

I'll have to bend that steel back down, so that the radiator can sit flush.

 

That is your A/C condenser. It converts hot gaseous refrigerant into cooler liquid. If it isn't already broken, I wouldn't touch it. You'll know if it's broken because your AC won't work.

As for the radiator support down below, I would bang that back as best you can. The radiator should sit fine once it relatively straight. The good thing is you won't be able to see it once everything is back in.
