Looking for first mod

Hey 'Ziners. Well I've finally got the mod itch after mourning the death of my 350Z. Looking to start upgrading my TL-S. I've been doing the research and wondering what would be a good first mod for it? How did you guys start? Looking for a bit more ooomph and want to do some small visual upgrades.

s/n: How hard is it to change out those regular fog lights?

Than ks 'Ziners and I appreciate it.

it depends... if you want power mods go pcd, jpipe, catback exhaust
as far as visual mods in my opinion aspec lip, coilovers, and wheels will make the biggest difference.

My First MOD was 15% Tint all around except for the front windshield lol, Here in Florida that Sun be Killa. Then...
Changed out my Fog Lights and installed 3000k HIDs.
Changed my OEM HID Bulbs with 8000k.
Blacked Out Badges with Plastidip
Sevas 20s
HT Spec 1 Coilovers
LED Turns (Regular LEDs in the Rear & Switchback in the front)
LEDs in the Interior. All my lights inside the car have Hyperwhite LEDs from VLEDs Except for the Middle Console compartment and Glove Box. Will be switching them soon. They kinda got away from me since I don't pay much mind to them.
Also have an Alarm System which I have yet to install. My Installer is Slacking and I may have to find another one
Something Nice is Coming soon, IDK what yet but its gonna be sweet. Have up to 1grand to spend

I say depending on ur Budget, You start with what you can afford. If u a Baller and got money Ill say get your Shoes first with a Nice drop...

A good start...

Power Mods

1. jpipe(rv6, xlr8, ATLP)
2. pre cat deletes or high flows pre cats (rv6, xlr8, atlp)
3. catback (rv6, xlr8, altp, greddy, etc)

Aesthetic Mods
1. aspec kit
2. tint
3. wheels

Suspension Mods
1. drop (coilovers, shocks/springs)
2. rear sway bar (progress)
3. short shifter/weighted knob/bushings (comptech, maven, corsport)

Of course cheaper mods...

1. leds all around
2. slave cyl check valve delete
3. door lock mod
4. hacked nav
5. ss brake lines w/ good fluid (Motul 5.1, Castrol SRF etc)
6. gm syncromesh tranny fluid (if 6psd)

etc etc etc

Not to hijack the thread, but:

Where would one go about getting an A-Spec kit for the TL-S? Can one still get them through and Acura dealer, or are we forced to scavenge online for them?

I think Mahara nailed it and covered it all. On aesthetic, I'd go tints first as well. After that, definitely Aspec Kit.

Can someone explain this to me as well. I've searched and I thought the A-spec kit on the TL-S needed modification.

They sell two versions. One is for the Base Model and another one for the Type-S. They shouldn't be much modifications cause it does come for the TL-S

OP, I pretty much agree with Maharajamd above. He broke down the options pretty well. I think it depends more than anything on your current budget. Something simple like a Progress rear sway bar will run you like 120 where as a full catback system will be in the neighborhood of $1200. My advice is, plan out your mods, take your time, and enjoy the progress of the ride from stock to whatever you want it to become.

BTW, my first mod besides tint (and type S tails, but of course you don't need to worry about that), was the A-spec lip kit. Made a HUGE visual difference on the car and I've loved it ever since. If you look around (AckTL05), and get in on a group buy, you should be able to get a good price on it. Under $800. Look in the Group Buy section under Black Market. Best of luck!

For my first mods I decided to go with TEIN SS coilovers paired with a Progress RSB

These are a great recommendation as they make a huge difference in how the car feels/handles as well as having better looks as an added bonus.

I have both of these mods and wish I did them as a first mod. Intake was my first.

You cant go wrong with these or a jpipe/exhaust. Just depends on if you want power mods or handling mods.

^I had to reread that three times for it to come together in my head. Lol

And I stand by the aspec first before tint. But then again, it's almost 3x the cost so...
