Yes, the RDM is the old part # and the RDV is now used for TL, MDX, RL and even an 10 TSX.

I'm doing the valves when I do my timing belt. I talked to the lead tech at my dealer and as I thought, they recommend the valve adjustment at about half as many miles as the timing belt. This is usually the case. The clearances change a lot in the first 10,000 miles and then not so much after that. I think a better interval would be doing the first adjustment at 10,000 miles and you could probably go another 150,000+ miles before the second one.

The 14510 adjuster is a tensioner that pivots on a collar and therefore should be replaced with the t/belt, whereas the 14550 idler is stable and just spins. It does not necessarily need to be replaced as long as it is properly mounted and isn't making noise.

I got in on this deal and bought it last friday and received the parts monday 1/10. What a great deal. I just checked with my dealer to see what they charge. Just for the parts alone my dealer charges $604.45. Labor is another $655.50 for a total of 1260.00 Parts alone that saves me over $300 bucks! I'm going the DIY route!!!

For anyone who hasn't taken advantage of this offer yet you need to do it asap!

Did you try to PM Kaleb (WholesalePartsGuy). Or go to post #88 and click on his username and then select "PM".

Or use the phone # in his signature at the bottom of that post.

Talked to Rick at Hansel Prestige Acura and he said Kaleb moved to their Honda store and the prices are still good, good guy. Thanks to Majofo for his Great DIY https://acurazine.com/forums/3g-tl-2004-2008-93/122-diy-105k-service-timing-belt-water-pump-spark-plugs-thermostat-%2Apics%2A-784622/ .

It does seem intimidating but I think I have what it takes. Worked on cars alot and fixed alot of our machines we use in our business. Here is the list of parts I ordered today, if I missed something please let me know.
Timing Belt - 14400-RCA-A01
Drive Belt - 3892-RCA-A03
Water Pump w/ gasket - 19200-RDV-J01
Timing Belt Adjuster - 14510-RCA-A01
Timing Belt Auto Tensioner - 14520-RCA-A01
Timing Belt Idler Pulley - 14550-RCA-A01
Thermostat w/ gasket - 19301-P(S or 8)E-A10
Cam and Crank seals, no # sorry.
Valve Cover Gaskets and Spark Plug Seals
I already have Spark Plugs, Coolant, Transmission filter and fluid, 3rd & 4th Trans pressure switches(w/ new washers or gaskets) and all tools and supplies from DIY thread. So I know I have alot of work ahead and will do it one weekend in near future. Anything else why I'm in there? Wish I could just rebuild whole motor for the Turbo, have to wait for lottery for that though, for now.

It appears recommended to replace the gaskets. This includes the lower and upper right? If so, $22 seems pretty cheap for two gaskets and plug seals. Can you confirm if this was just for the upper or lower or was it for both?

Also, in terms of seals, does anyone know the part numbers to the seals (crank and cam)?

I can provide part numbers for the sensors and gaskets if you don't know them. Thanks.

cam seals 91213-RCA-A01 Crank seal 91214-RCA-A01
do not know about their prices, did not ask. at estore.honda.com lower intake is 21.68 and upper is 23.38.
the 22.00 is for both valve cover gaskets and spark plug seals. sorry i misread your post, shoot me later.

So 12030-RCA-A01 would be the VC Gasket Set. What would be the part number for the Spark Plug Seal? I take it this seal is NOT the same as the Cam and Crank Seals (91213-RCA-A01 and 91214-RCA-A01, respectively).

So if I'm interpreting the blow up diagram correctly:

Does #1 include #4, #5, #12, and #13? If so, the required quantity for #1 (12030-RCA-A01) is two. Does two of these contain six #5s, and ten #13s? I'm confused by this...

I didn't order the set, so I can't be sure.

And yes, you'd need to order 2 sets I believe.

I just ordered two VC gaskets and 6 SP seals from my local Honda dealer....cost me $23 with a military discount....

So for the Valve Adjustment, I would need:

17105-RCA-A01 - Lower Intake Manifold Gasket
17146-RCA-A01 - Upper Intake Manifold Cover Gasket
12030-RCA-A01 - Head Valve Cover Gasket Set (2x)

I'm confused because I see people ordering these, but just with 1 of the Head VC.

Perhaps I should just ask it this way: What are the comprehensive list of parts necessary to do the Valve Adjustment service? What about the Spark Plug Service?

Valve adjustment:

The 2 intake manifold gaskets, 2 VC gaskets, 6 spark plug seals. If you want to order the set, that's up to you. I'm still confused as to exactly what is in the set (12030-RCA-A01). If the VC bolts and washers are part of the set, IMHO, that's overkill.

When I did my valve adjustment, I missed the service manual part about using new manifold gaskets and just reused the old gaskets. When I got the VCs off, the SP seals were in pristine condition, so I did not replace them.

Just be very careful when tightening the VC bolts. They are very easy to break. Use a 1/4" torque wrench if you have one. The bolts have stop washers on them. You'll feel when they hit. Stop then, even if you haven't reached the specified torque (8.7 ft-lbs)

SP service:

Just the plugs and anti-seize. I also highly recommend 7" of 5/16 ID heater/fuel hose to thread the new plugs:

Man, that's an awesome price... 2 VC gaskets plus 6 SP seals would cost around $60!!

It means to screw the plug in the first few turns. The holes for the spark plugs are too deep to thread the plug by hand. If you use a socket and extension, you risk cross threading the plug. You can certainly do it with a socket and extension, but the tubing virtually prevents cross-threading. If you use the tube, it's much easier to feel it if you get it cross-threaded.

No, should be more like $23 plus shipping.

$5.24 x 2
$1.94 x 6

Just call Rick/Kaleb and ask them for pricing on what you decide you want....

I think this is why I'm so confused.

12030-RCA-A01 is the Head VC Gasket Set. Most online places are selling this around $24. Clearly this is not the same as the part you are getting for $5.24. Based on the cost, I see the item number is 12341-RCA-A00 (I see a 12341-RCA-A01 as well). Does this mean I don't need the Head VC Gasket Set?

Interestingly enough, www.acuraoemparts.com does not even offer the spark plug seal:

http://www.acuraoemparts.com/delray/...All&vinsrch=no

As you can see from the results, Part #005 is missing, even though it is part of the diagram...

WholesalePartsGuy:

Are you still offering the TB package at $295? If so, I believe it contains:

14400-RCA-A01 - Timing Belt
14520-RCA-A01 - Timing Belt Auto Tensioner
14510-RCA-A01 - Timing Belt Adjuster
19200-RDV-J01 - Water Pump w/ Gasket
38920-RCA-A03 - Compressor Belt

Based on past entries in this thread, I believe you are also offering:

14550-RCA-A01 - Timing Belt Idler Pulley for $35
19301-P8E-A10 - Thermostat for $25

For $22:
2x of 12341-RCA-A00 - Head Cover Gasket
6x of 12342-RYE-004 - Spark Plug Seal
(Can you please confirm the quantity and part numbers?)

How much would you charge for:

17105-RCA-A01 - Lower Intake Manifold Gasket
17146-RCA-A01 - Upper Intake Manifold Cover Gasket

As you can see, I'm trying to get ALL of the parts necessary to do the Timing Belt, Spark Plug, and Valve Adjustment services.

TLTrance - Thanks for listing this out. This is what i have to do too.

I am interested in getting these as well since I have to do the same services. How can we get the parts for the services(Timing Belt, Spark Plug, and Valve Adjustment services) and what is the total cost?
Thanks!

Believe you forgot the actual spark plugs themselves.

Saw a note in the thread about Rick with a phone number. Is he the best contact to place an order?
