Meet time
We will all meet on friday May 7th in the morning-afternoon-night and get acquainted with each other and enjoy dinner at one of the local spots. Maybe even some late night cruising and photoshoots.

on Saturday May 8th we will grab breakfast and make sure all vehicles are prime and ready for the mountain cruise and go over guidelines and safety rules. Then we hit the mountain for a day full of mountain cruises and photoshoots.

May 9th is open for either another cruise or just a day to enjoy the area.

Route info
With the temporary closing of the Dragon Moonshiner28 is a great alternative. There are sections of 28 in North Carolina every bit as twisty as the Tail. Bonus .... speed limit is 55 most of the route.

Stretching from US 129 at the Tail of the Dragon at Deals Gap, Moonshiner 28 winds its way southeastward through Franklin and Highlands North Carolina before turning southward into Georgia and South Carolina at Walhalla.

Dragon is Open now!!!

ROCK SLIDE UPDATE April 9, 2010: The rock slide on US 129 is located between the Dragon and Happy Valley Road/Foothills Parkway. TDOT has announced in a press release that the 11 mile section known as the Tail of the Dragon will be open from 8 am to 8 pm beginning Monday April 12, 2010. The only access is from North Carolina US 129. THP announced that there will be zero tolerance for traffic violations, so I'd travel the Tail with extreme caution. Please obey the traffic laws and report any undue harassment to us. We will forward all complaints to the Tennessee and North Carolina senators and representatives who worked so hard to get the road open. We will continue to post the latest information here so keep in touch. The only alternatives from 8 pm to 8 am are the Cherohala Skyway and US 441 through the Great Smoky Mountains. There are many great roads in North Carolina and the Cherohala Skyway is clean.

^ Nope. You go at your own pace.

 

This is not a race. its a nice paced cruise down a scenic route and we will go at our own pace. no one is pressured or forced to speed and we always welcome stock cars
