Read your thread title, read the first sentence of your first post......TL becomes slow with 5 people in the car.....that's a SHOCKER huh?
Did u really think that civic si was stock? How many people have si's that are stock? What were u thinking trying to race him to begin with? Do u have any performance mods?
Oh and fyi yes the a/c comment was a joke I am much more intelligent then that trust me!

I am actually in my TL right now driving to CanAm, if u don't know what that is look it up. I bet there will b some civic si's there if u wanna come up and make a fool of yourself.

That's cute...you must have some sort of real muscle car with real torque, or something like that. Yes, if you punch it in 1st or 2nd the car jerks forward and if you're not expecting it...it will knock your head back.

Thanks.

PS...I am jealous because I've always loved Grand Nationals. One day I will own a car that is RWD and has some real torque!

I am not sure but he could have had Turbo, because I dont think a 270HP V6 can be beaten by a 97 Civic with not even 190HP.

I was surprised how much power was lost when I had 5 people in the car.
It felt as if I lost 100HP. I've heard that every 15 pounds is a loss of HP.

I was laughing pretty hard when that civic pulled on me. And dont go and say I am a bad driver, because it was on a complete straightaway.
You raced with 5 people in the car and you're complaining about losing to an Si.

Somebody pass me the "Idiot" button followed by a Staples "Easy" button.

Not smart dude...just not smart...

So I stopped at like frigin 75. He already pulled on me enough. IT was sort of out of the blue. Plus I knew the damn car couldn't meet it's usual performance.
People like you just tick me off and your lecturing. The car was in complete control. AND NO not in ANY way is putting the AC on a good idea to give you more HP...You have no idea what the heck your talking about.
The Air Conditioner + 5 people no.... The AC takes up a lot of power and drains gas 12% more. Unless of course that was all a joke.

Riight, watch this video

http://www.vimeo.com/4875559

Complete straightaway, and just like you, he though he was in complete control, until he made a poor decision.

Could you imagine making a poor decision with 5 pax in the car in a race? You already did by 'racing' to begin with, whether it was hardcore or not. Luckily, the race must not have lasted long enough for you to make another bad decision.

i drove in a 335I coupe and there were three of us, around 6'.4" each and u wouldn't believe how fast it was picking up speed. I didnt even wanna think how it is driving it alone ... bottom line is that the TL just doesnt have torque and lowend especially...which makes it very hard to have fun in it my dads 2008 VW passat 2.0T station wagon feels faster and even when you load it pretty good, there is not that of a drastic change in pickup.

Hey trancemission, just curious, are admins being tougher on posting? Or are you always that serious? Not trying to bash you or disrespect you or anything especially when I'm semi new to board but lighten up!

My dad's 335 felt like POOP with a full load in the car. Most will. Sorry, but you must be optimistic as *^#%. Driving it with just me in the car isn't a lot more exhilarating than a TL base.

So they make fun of me. Take all that I say and bash it. And I can't simply reply with truth. This thread turned into an entire bash party. Thanks a lot.
I made this thread because I thought it would be a little funny to see what people said. No extreme race or anything. And like always on this forum this crap happens. I am becoming irritated.

Some of us do not like a lack of civility. I fall into that mold. I' big on treating people with respect and dignity, so I would be one to call someone down for that sort of improper behavior.

Some of the users on this forum in general are just straight up trying to start stuff. I appreciate that there is some intelligent people here. I try my best to stay civil and respectful, but when someone talks crap and starts to insult me.. Than I become a little irritated.

I'm not talking about the OPs post, I'm not talking about the guy that posted a short sarcastic sentence and get bashed for it. And yes I understand everything your saying especially southern boy. But you got to understand that different people have loads of different opinions like the op. Did you really think anyone "respected" the OP regardless if he should or should not done the "race" in the first case? Nope. It just seems that every post is strict and there is no room for "sarcasm" to lighten up the mood or any funny comments (of course the comments must follow rules) I'm just pointing about my opinion! I love these forums and many forums like this are moderated by a few people or even by none! But we have so many which is a good thing. Have a nice day! Heading to track with my friends 335 with m3 swap!

Again, coming back under a different username = permanent ban.

This forum is information based. We try to keep it that way. If you have nothing to add to a thread then do not post. People start threads here because they need answers. If you can't provide any input you are better off not posting.

If you need to let your hair down and talk about anything, then feel free to go to Ramblings in the Off Topic section. That is where it needs to stay.

These rules are not designed to take the fun out of posting. Their main purpose is to keep this forum civil. This is not a mens locker room. Im not saying we cant have discussions here. We just need to be mature about it.

Most important, if there is an argument going on or someone is out of line, do not add fuel to the fire. Any participation in it makes you just as guilty. Just PM the staff and we will take care of the situation.

From this point on there is zero tolerance. All warnings will be sent in the form of a PM. If you cant follow the rules after that you will be banned and an email will be sent informing you of the banning. AcuraZine Staff reserve the right to determine whether any post is in violation of these guidelines.

Thank you for your cooperation.

3G Moderating Team

I wrote these rules myself. That are not harsh at all.

I will not except the excuse "this is the internet". I have been here long enough to know that this site separates itself from the rest simply because we treat each other with respect.

The OP was being bashed. I came in and told you to stop. Then he comes back defending himself and added more to it when the admin should have been notified.

I have started threads asking all of you to read the rules but yet you still fuck up threads with incoherent babbling. This is why Im being harsh, because you dont understand anything else at this point.

it goes beyond respect when there are personal attacks.

Have a nice day, its 90 here and Im going for a swim now

EDIT: even sarcasm can be takin the wrong way. there are alot of different personalities on this board. Some take it with a grain of salt and some dont. so I would say choose your words wisely.

if you really want to be a smartass goto Ramblings. You'll love it over there.

I'm not trying to be a smart ass, I'm not even sure if I even posted anything on this thread besides the last 2. (nothing to do with op) I understand your pov and I respect it but you just sound so harsh sometimes like your going to kill somebody!

Haha where you live in Texas? I'm about to go to schlitterbahn later

I try not to sound harsh, I used to be nice back in the day.

But Im just fed up, thats all. I know that all threads cant go perfect. But I completely understand your pov too. I just wish that we could take jabs at each other and have it go ok. But some people are not at thick skinned as you and I. So thats why the rules are in place. We have Off Topic for you to get it out of your system.

I love a good debate, but there is no room in our model specific forums for name calling and personal attacks.

Im in Dallas. Man I would love to goto schlitterbann. I have people in from Shreevport and Austin this weekend. None of them own Acuras anymore....

Yeah, I understand you and that it's hard not to want to stand up for yourself, and I am the type who will only allow someone to push me just so far. My mom had a wonderful way of looking at dealing with people. She used to say, "treat everyone with respect and dignity until they give you reason not to. Then just avoid them". I tend to think she was on to something there. My brother also used to say, "profanity is the effort of a feeble mind trying to express itself forceably".

The thing the internet does is it hides those who chose to be aggressive and nasty from the repercussions of their folly. Were they to say and do the things they do in the first person (as in front of people), my guess is they were turn tail and turn chicken or coward. Hard to confront someone when they're standing right in front of you when you have no spine.

Good to hear you're a person of character.

No what the fuck are YOU talking about. I didnt mean for it to sound like I was mad at you. So saying that the TL is a little slower than usual when it has to increase speed against a civic is now against the rules?

I made the post not because it was a slight race of any sort. I made the thread because I just couldn't believe how much power was lost. And I thought it was a pretty funny story to tell.

I am in no way the victim here. It's just irritating that a lot of my threads get half assed remarks. Calm down.

I think I really just should have described the event more in detail so none of this would had happened. For that I apologize. Obviously cars slow down with ppl in the car. But it was worth a thread because of the story. Hah.

Can't believe I missed half of this thread. Oh well everything is over and done with. Race or no race remember if you have people in your car and you are driving excessive speeds even if your not racing if a cop pulled you over he could have cited you for endangering the welfare of your passengers.
Plus this is an open forums so you will receive criticism as well as compliments. In this case there wasn't too many compliments if any sometimes you just have to deal with it.

Taking jabs at one another and using a person sex to make dumb jokes isn't really the way that AZINE operates here which is why you still have people that don't have Acuras anymore that stick around because its an awesome community. I have built some friendships with people through here and we help each other out.
