That's cute...you must have some sort of real muscle car with real torque, or something like that. Yes, if you punch it in 1st or 2nd the car jerks forward and if you're not expecting it...it will knock your head back.

So I've come to realize that my 05 TL auto with 5 people in the car became extremely slow. Because the other day I went for a ride and a 97 Civic SI got into a race with me AND "beat" me. I couldn't believe the HP to weight ratio in that thing. The civic seriously pulled on me. I am not sure but he could have had Turbo, because I dont think a 270HP V6 can be beaten by a 97 Civic with not even 190HP.
I was surprised how much power was lost when I had 5 people in the car.
It felt as if I lost 100HP. I've heard that every 15 pounds is a loss of HP.
I was laughing pretty hard when that civic pulled on me. And dont go and say I am a bad driver, because it was on a complete straightaway.

Dude Shut up seriously. If you where to of seen the area where this "little" race started you cant say that I [TOTALLY ENDANGERED EVERYONES LIVES OMG!] No... Sorry. This was a complete straight away, with no other cars. I didn't even take it as a real race because before I could even get it up the damn thing was too slow to even try. So I stopped at like frigin 75. He already pulled on me enough. IT was sort of out of the blue. Plus I knew the damn car couldn't meet it's usual performance.
People like you just tick me off and your lecturing. The car was in complete control. AND NO not in ANY way is putting the AC on a good idea to give you more HP...You have no idea what the heck your talking about.
The Air Conditioner + 5 people no.... The AC takes up a lot of power and drains gas 12% more. Unless of course that was all a joke.

Could you imagine making a poor decision with 5 pax in the car in a race? You already did by 'racing' to begin with, whether it was hardcore or not. Luckily, the race must not have lasted long enough for you to make another bad decision.

i drove in a 335I coupe and there were three of us, around 6'.4" each and u wouldn't believe how fast it was picking up speed. I didnt even wanna think how it is driving it alone 
... bottom line is that the TL just doesnt have torque and lowend especially...which makes it very hard to have fun in it 
my dads 2008 VW passat 2.0T station wagon feels faster and even when you load it pretty good, there is not that of a drastic change in pickup.

Most will. Sorry, but you must be optimistic as *^#%. Driving it with just me in the car isn't a lot more exhilarating than a TL base.

I will not except the excuse "this is the internet". I have been here long enough to know that this site separates itself from the rest simply because we treat each other with respect.

Were they to say and do the things they do in the first person (as in front of people), my guess is they were turn tail and turn chicken or coward. Hard to confront someone when they're standing right in front of you when you have no spine.

I made the post not because it was a slight race of any sort. I made the thread because I just couldn't believe how much power was lost. And I thought it was a pretty funny story to tell.

Can't believe I missed half of this thread. Oh well everything is over and done with. Race or no race remember if you have people in your car and you are driving excessive speeds even if your not racing if a cop pulled you over he could have cited you for endangering the welfare of your passengers.
Plus this is an open forums so you will receive criticism as well as compliments. In this case there wasn't too many compliments if any sometimes you just have to deal with it.

I have built some friendships with people through here and we help each other out.
