I wish my TL would just have about 1% of the hotness that your TL has... Well done my friend.

Exhaust impression...

Never thought swapping out oem mufflers with the Magnaflows would make this much of performance improvement. Basically car runs much smoother during idle, smoother gear change, smoother rev to redline, etc... Only downturn is drone at 2,000 rpm and it is pretty loud.

In order to reduce some drone, I'm trying variable size of exhaust opening. It sounds and feels perfect with two of the inner tips closed but it looks funny when fume comes out from only two outer tips. Will have to try few more things before finalizing my new exhaust setup.

Custom Magnaflow Videos

Setup
-AEM v2
-ATLP J-Pipe
-ATLP Race Pipe
-Stock Resonator & Mid-Muffler
-Magnaflow 14" (2.25in/2.00out)
-ATLP Quad Tips
-Custom Silencer

Outside

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vd0td_MR50E

It used to be much much louder without custom made silencers

Inside

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=imCgR5Iofb4

I couldn't fully capture the droning sound with my point and shoot camera.

Nice work!~ Sounds good.
You should paint the silencers black for a stealthy look

inner tips have silencers painted and welded. outer silencers are not finalized yet. need to find perfect opening size for optimal sound/performance that I like. after that it'll get painted black and welded on.

Do those silencers reduce the cabin drone @ ~ 2000-2400 rpm?

all my cabin drone comes from trunk area since i retained all the stock resonators. with this washer type silencers, drone is reduced quite a bit.

from a scale of 1~10, 10 being the loudest. its about 6.5 now with the silencers. obviously noise/drone will go down as diameter of silencer opening gets smaller.

will do. with the current setup, cabin still drones on highway cruising speed and normal city driving. so thinking about fully closing up the inner tips and no silencers on outer two.

get the UR pulley first if you haven't already. lighter pulley will make revs move faster than freeing up the exhaust.

yea i too want to know the diameter. I'm trying to save up and get the xlr8 catback, j pipe, race pipe combo at once but get quad 3.5 inch tips to replace the 3 inch tips that the xlr8 comes with.

Your engine cover looks sick! What color gold did you paint use? Primed? Cleared?

^^^ Nice! Does this help keep the exhaust sound out of the cabin? I just got a Greddy exhaust and I drove 300 miles on the highway today.. I wanted to smack someone the drone was so bad.. lol I found myself speeding just to get over 2500 rpms to keep the exhaust quieter.. lol

it kinda reduced the exhaust resonance. definitey worth it if your planning to keep the catback system for a while. i tend to rev up the engine fast too to just get past the 2000 rpm and minimize the drone
