half my school was on the field for that performance.

 

my dad is contemplating buying a used car, and he found a 1995 Lexus SC400 w/90k miles at the local repair shop. It needs new brakes, and the power seat doesn't go forward/backwards. the guy at the shop is going to fix everything, then sell it for $3,000. keep in mind, this car has a 4.0L V8.

i think this is a steal, what do you guys think?

 

the lexus is going to be a pain in the ass to work on... my mom has a 1993 ls400 and it sucks... you move one little thing wrong on any part of the car, and lights come on on the dash. when you take it to the stealership to get it looked at/fixed, they want to charge you $1500+ to turn off some lights...

that being said, they are pretty nice cars, when they're working correctly...

 

So I was coming back from school and noticed an interesting car in my rear view mirror. Thought it was some kind of TVR or something but as it speed by, it looked like a 370Z for sure! Crappy pic but hey, it was the first time I've seen on in person.

It was very far away, coming up very fast at about 80 - 85 mph on the left lane (speed limit is 70 and I'm going 70) and the only thing I really saw from the front was the front bumper which looks really TVRish imo and I've never seen a 370Z before either so I was like, "wtf is that?"

 

ahh i see, haven't seen a 370z yet either so i see how it could be hard to recognize it especially if it was speeding. i just thought it was close to you going almost the same speed or something

 

the superbowl was cool, the commercials were gay this year, bud light is usually good, but not this time. I hate the halftime show since the whol Janet Jackson thing, it's way too pro family now...like 5 year olds watch the superbowl.

 

yeah i agree w/u on the halftime show, too family oriented. guess this day n age where kids can look up anything on the internet they dont want anything bad to add to the mix

 

Saw a Skyline the other day. Well, actually 2. An all white one, then I saw a like a shit load of street bikes with a murdered out skyline in the middle, it looked pretty bad ass.

 

fuck, what an awful day im having....
shit just keeps breaking on me, first dishes at my place, then my friends decoartion as his parents place...his mom wasn't too pleased...and i'm sober making it even worse of a fail.
at least i am starting work in 2 weeks and our bus strike is over after 55 days of crazy traffic. i can save up some money for my trip this summer. prolly will have to borrow from the rents though, airfair is expensive.

 

If everything on the car checks out good then thats a steal..if for some reason i would ever sell the CL i'd for sure get a SC400 & do a 6 speed swap on it

^or you could get a RHD twin turbo soarer, either with a 5 speed already swapped into it, or do one yourself, as the japanese cars usually have low mileage

 

oh i've looked into it trust me RHD doesn't do it for me at all..

ya true, it was cool when no one had any, or only a few ppl, but all those ppl with the stupid cheap RHD gts-m skylines and stuff, they just ruined it for the rest.
The pulsar gti-r is the only one i'd buy for a RHD, just wish it looked a little less vw golf-ish, but that's what makes it one of the best stock sleepers IMO

i really hope my dad gets this car. its the color combo he loves (red/tan int), and he is in LOVE with SCs. the guy fixing it has a stellar reputation in our town, and the people we know who go to him says he's zero bullshit.

all i have to do now is convince my dad he's not going to find a deal like this for a long ass time.

I'm really thinking about getting rid of the CL, I fond a couple killer deals, one is an 2001 Prelude for 7995 and only 78k on it, the other is a CL-S6 with 112k for the same price....its tempting with the work he Ac needs soon

 

get the Lexus, they are sexyyyy. and off subject for a second but what hid kit would you guys recommend. i searched the forums but couldn't come to a decision for low and high beams. and the whole h4 deal, which "type" are we..

 

9006 low beams and i wouldn't put and hids in the highbeam, defeats the purpose of highbeams since it takes a while for the hid to warm up.
get your kit from ddm tuning if you're patient, they're cheap but since they do such high volume sales it takes a while to get your hid kit since they sell most of their kits before each shipment even comes in.

 

believe me, i want my dad to get the lexus. i know he wants it, but it may take a while for the guy to fix all the things that need to be fixed. but, he's patient. it took us over a month to convince the guy who sold us the CL to sell it for $8500...he wanted $10k for it.

 

I found a pair of s2000 seats close to me for $400 or best offer on craigslist... who wants em!?
